[...] What about the shows past depiction of Muslims?
In the second season, we worked with the Muslim community, and I know we did a PSA. But, if you want to just take a look at 9/11, they were Muslims. Deal with it. Its a fact, and Muslim extremists exist, and we have also done Christian right extremists, and we have also done political, Eastern block terrorists, and those who had financial and religious motives all kinds. We werent going to pretend that the 22 hijackers in 9/11 werent Muslim. By the same token, I do believe you have a responsibility to say that this is a show about extremes. And I think you have to do whatever you can to make sure that people understand that this is not a commentary on what you believe people of the Muslim faith are doing. Theres a very, very small group, and so we did everything we could to do that, while protecting the right to tell the story that we wanted to tell.

A fairly gutsy move by the liberal Hollywood Canadian that became a conservative icon.

I’m going to miss old Jack.
“while protecting the right to have it both ways.”
One of the shows S4 guest stars, Shohreh Aghdashloo, said something similar. She should know. She escaped Iran.
Especially remarkable coming from such a genetic leftist as Sutherland, whose grandfather was the designer of Canada’s disastrously socialized medical system.
It is gutsy in the context of Hollywood where conformity to political correctness comes with nearly every SAG card. But here the critical factor is that Sutherland has “F... Y..” money, due to the success of the show and can call them as he sees them. I think I read that a couple of seasons ago he was hauling in north of $22M a season (and I don’t think that included a share of syndication of reruns, which will be large.) So he had earned an independent platform in Hollywood.
...I am still having a hard time logistically accepting the notion of extreme christians? and comparing them to extreme muslims?
Not all muslims are terrorists, but the overwhelming majority of terrorists are muslim...
Already cut a SIM card out of the bad Russian's belly.
Kidnapped ex-prez. Then tracked and killed more bad Russians.
...What tonight?
“What tonight?” THE END.
I’ll miss you Jack! JAAAACK!!!
What are the odds Jack gets killed tonight?
zero, they’re planning a movie.
Thank goodness.
Now that I think about it, I do seem to remember hearing something about that. That’s good in any event. I couldn’t quite get my head around a story line taking out Jack, but then I was really surprised when they whacked Renee Walker. I guess they thought Jack needed the additional rage to carry him to the finish.
24, the Movie: Jack Bauer is an extremist Christian Tea Partier hunted by the government he turned against.
Same as Senator Blutarsky's GPA at Faber. ZERO POINT ZERO.
However, I'm betting that we'll find out that the plane carrying his family yesterday afternoon ("24" time) never arrived at its destination. It was lost in an uncharted area of the Pacific :)

So who’s your choice to play Gilligan in the movie?
Colonel, USAFR
BTW: I love the brilliant writers.
Jack is judge, jury and executioner. And, when he’s the only one thinking straight ... it kinda makes sense. The redhead was apparently the last straw.

Hadn't thought of the "Gilligan's Island" angle when I wrote that. I was thinking more of a "Lost" reference. That said, Mary Lynn Rajskub would be the logical choice for Gilligan, don'tcha think?
And when the chips are down, all Muslims will stick together — terrorist or not. Ask yourself, would you want a Muslim to be the commanding officer of a nuclear-armed plane or sub? The time will come that this will be a reality. And it is then that the SHTF.
We’ve already had Muslim soldiers fragging their officers and let’s not forget FT. Hood. We’ll see many repeats of these types of events and we’ll be unable to stop them unless we’ll eliminate Islam from the Armed Forces. And that will be a cold day in hell, and the enemy knows it.
HELL YEAH
I keep yelling "kill them all and let the Good Lord sort them out." :-}
Galligan, perhaps?
I guess President Taylor is a Republican because when the chips were down, she folded. I guess this means when all is said and done she will grant Jack a pardon.
....so we have the beginning of another series???
I like you’re idea though, and while trying to assemble a search and rescue effort Jack is....
I’m going to make three predictions about the last two episodes of “24”: 1.) Jack dies; 2). It’s definitely a much better ending than what happened on “Lost”; and, most important, 3.) Chloe O’Brian smiles. :)
Will Jack be killed tonight?
No. Movie series planned. First movie due in 2012. Killing Jack is like killing James Bond at this point. Jack Bauer is too lucrative a property to kill off.
SnakeDoc
I am too. Bummer of a night.
Maybe they’ll take a few seasons off; make a few feature films, and bring Jack back.
I have read that the 24 movie will cover Jack’s early life as Navy Seal, etc. up to the time of his being recruited by CTU. So that would take care of him being killed off at the end of the tv series.
Nope. Its a sequel. Takes place in Europe.

One of the most depressing movies: House of Sand and Fog and full of anti US crap. That’s why it was nominated for Best Pic years ago..
Shohreh Aghdashloo is awesome in anything she does. She was incredible in her 24 role, and I enjoyed her limited stint on FlashForward (which I assume would have been larger had the show been renewed). And I did like House of Sand and Fog, though it became too PC for me. I would have shot the bastard and tossed him over the cliff.
I liked Shoreh, dont get me wrong. In an interview she did, she was looking for a comedy role because she was being type-cast in “depressing serious” roles. On the other hand, House of’ was not as super-preachy like Babel.
Babel... geez. I learned the hard way to stay away from Brad Pitt films!
