Rut-Rohh...another poll on Fiorina has her up by 20. (Devore in 3rd).

Turning to California, we noted last week that a poll, this one by the Public Policy Institute of California (PPIC), indicated Carly Fiorina had moved ahead of Tom Campbell, albeit the two candidates were both within the margin of error. Still, the poll was significant in that Campbell had consistently been narrowly ahead of Fiorina for weeks and this was the first poll to reverse that trend. We wondered at the time if the poll could have been an outlier. Late yesterday Survey USA released a poll which threw cold water on the idea that the PPIC poll was an outlier and lent strong support to Fiorina's surge in the polls...and then some:

Better Carly than Boxer or Campbell. Do we want a GOP senate and house to reverse the Obama agenda or don't we?

Perfect is the enemy of good.

I suggest everyone do a little research on ole Carly “what makes you think you’re entitled to a job” Fiorina, the outsourcing queen who wrecked Lucent and Hewlit Packard. You think you’ve seen bad? You ain’t seen nothin’ yet.

I not fan of Fiorina, in business or politics but, “what makes you think you’re entitled to a job,” is a preferable to, “you are entitled to a job, and the goverment is going to give to you courtesy of the hard working taxpayers.” Hello SEIU...

Yes, because Obama needs another RINO to give him political cover.

In a way, I prefer Boxer.

Wrong. That was Carly’s response to techies who were thrown out of work by her outsourcing and insourcing American tech jobs. She devastated high tech.

Well, obviously if this poll is correct she is going to easily win the Republican nomination. It blows me away when I see people post they would rather see Boxer win. Really? How can anyone prefer a dem over a Republican even if it is a “RINO”. Maybe, just maybe, a “RINO” is the only way a Republican can elected in California. With dems controlling the state offices a RINO is probably what you are going to get.

Boxer is a predictable Rat. Carly will be another McCain and sell us out on the issues that matter. Is this what we want and need at this perilous time in our nation’s history?

GO DEVORE!

I understand the push here for Mr. DeVore and understand those that want the most conservative candidate to win. But California has been a strong Democratic stronghold for some time now. Ronald Reagan would not be governor there nowadays, and pretending he would is deluding oneself. Half a loaf and all that. I think Carly is more conservative than Scott Brown in many ways and remember the party here when he won?

Is Tom Campbell better? Because Mr. DeVore is at 17% as I recall, which means he’s not really in the race currently.
With Senator Boxer, Mr. Obama gets a guaranteed vote for his agenda.

I realize that Boxer is a rubber stamp. Plus she is a moron.

But 3 Republicans voted for the Stimulus and they called it a bi-partisan bill.

That does more damage than them passing their crap with a straight party line vote.

Now, if Fiorina will help the GOP get the majority, I’m more open to it.

“what makes you think you’re entitled to a job” Fiorina

DeVore is clearly more conservative and he would be the better senator.

That said, a politician who believes that a job isn't an entitlement is a good thing.

A more damaging Carly quote would be the one about Roe v. Wade being settled law.

Ughh!

Carly Fiorina has been endorsed by the National Right to Life, the California Pro-Life Council, and the Susan B. Anthony List.

She is pro-life, pro-traditional marriage, pro-military, and pro-strict border security and against amnesty.

She is against Obamacare and will vote to repeal it and prevent the government takeover of private companies and industries.

Carly is also a strong supporter of the Second Amendment. Like me, she is a member of the NRA, has a 100% NRA rating, and she and her husband are gun owners.

She is pro-energy development and believes as I do in an all-of-the-above approach to energy independence.

She is against cap and tax. And most importantly, Carly is the only conservative in the race who can beat Barbara Boxer. That’s no RINO. That’s a winner.

I agree.

Don’t get me wrong, I would vote rather have DeVore in that seat.

But its seems to me in that statement at least Fiorina is right.

Notice that she used the word “entitled” as in entitlement = the root of fiscal irresponsibility.

Observe Greece.

I’m just saying, you either believe jobs are an entitlement or you don’t (they aren’t). Outsourcing may suck, and may ultimately be bad for the company, but it is at the company’s discretion do whatever they want. Good orgs take care of their employees, bad ones don’t. You can argue she is a bad CEO, but the quotation makes it easier for me to stomach her as the nominee, not harder. I’ll vote DeVore in the primary, and whoever the nominee is in the general.

Hey, how about we all vote for DeVore because we think he is the best candidate and then he wins

DeVore is surging and may snag it, although many California Republicans just want a win, so they will go for Fiorina because they think she can beat M’am Boxer. I always vote for the best candidiate in the primary and let the chips fall where they may, but many go for the one they think can win after the narrow Hershenson loss to Boxer in ‘92

I will definitely vote for Fiorina in Nov. if she is the Republican candidate

The tired old phrase “perfect is the enemy of the good” is not your invention, shows you adopt phase snippets to hand wave away the underlying reality that you’re ready to compromise and accept more of the same RINO behavior that will do nothing more than turn away future voters to the conservative brand, because RINO so-called conservatives are not even close to the real thing, similar to passing off chicken for steak.

In your world you serve up ‘steak’ when every conservative knows it’s chicken, and all you got to say is “perfect is the enemy of the good”? Conservatives should eat what you call ‘steak’ which is really chicken because it’s called steak on the menu?

How about calling it chicken then?

How about telling conservatives to vote for a RINO? At least you would be honest in saying so.

Rejecting FioRINO is not allowing the “perfect to be an enemy of the good” as much as it allows “mediocre phoniness to be passed off for good-enough”.

Think about it.

no this is surging:

In the Republican primary for US Senator, support for former Hewlett Packard CEO Carly Fiorina is up sharply in the past 2 weeks, from 24% on 05/10/10 to 46% today 05/24/10.

http://www.surveyusa.com/client/PollReport.aspx?g=203d9267-8869-45c0-b3de-95ed057a54f9

And Devore is stuck at 14%

And this is surging:

Fiorina has now opened up a 20 point lead with 41% to 21% for Tom Campbell and 16% for Chuck DeVore.
http://publicpolicypolling.blogspot.com/2010/05/fiorina-up-big.html

going from third place to third place as Devore as done in the last 2 weeks is not surging its called treading water.
