What is going to happen to our country ?

Posted on 05/26/2010 2:22:18 PM PDT by se_ohio_young_conservative

I grew up playing baseball and football in a town of about 5000 people. I still remember standing on the pitchers mound with my mom is the stands watching me. I remember those summer days at the local swimming pool.

I miss that feeling. Not wanting to be child again. But I miss the feeling of knowing our country was going to be ok. I feel like a nightmare started on 9/11/01 and I need to wake back up.

I never liked to cry and show fear. But I have to admit that I am afraid of the future. What is happening to our country ? The national debt just hit 13 trillion. What is going to happen to our country ?

I worry about my daughters. What kind of country are they going to grow up in over the next 2 decades ?

I was watching Glenn Beck and I just had to turn it off and spike my mountain dew with some vodka.

I just can't watch anymore. This is a nightmare.

I’m slowly but surely becoming more concerned about the world in general. What will happen when there is no currency? And if you have gold what will you buy with it. I believe we’re going to have to become totally self sufficient. We’ll grow our own gardens. Dig our own wells. And barter with our neighbors.

The only other solution is for all the countries to forgive the others’ debt and start all over. I don’t think that will happen.

What will happen to our country? Just more of what’s been happening for the last 40 decades. There’ve been many things that should have started a second revolution but didn’t. I’m happy I won’t be here long. But I do weep for those who are children today.

Agreed. Beck is definitely Mr. Panic. I avoid him these days. Life has enough worries without him adding to them.

If you know something is going to happen - you can ACT. Some Jews got out of Germany BEFORE Hitler started sending Jews to death camps. They paid attention to scary news.

If you're retired - knowing what could happen might make you invest your money in a safer way - I assume you're not buying Muni's in states like California where default is possible.

Your husband might feel better knowing what could happen... I assume he knows Beck doesn't have a crystal ball - and that it's one more view to consider...

Wow, my past is remarkably similar. Grew up in a town of 4k people in northeastern wisconsin. no crime. 1950's feel. mainstreet had soda shops like the 50's, donut shops. We rode our bikes to school from 4 miles out in the country. stopped by the donut shops on the way to school. had a donut and a sundrop with the bikes parked out front (not locked up). This was the early 80's. we rode our bikes from one end of town to the other and never even thought about "what could happen."

How times have changed.

During the 50’s and 60’s we played in the woods and swam in rice canals that had snakes swimming around in them. And I can’t remember ever a child being abducted. This country certainly has much more evil than it had “yesterday”.

“...a lot depends on the upcoming election...”

I’m afraid it might be too late.

Here is the debt clock: http://www.usdebtclock.org/

Today, not January 2011, it’s $110,197,585 per taxpayer.

The US work force is 140 million out of 309 million. We may be past the tipping point when the interest accumulates faster than it can be paid off.

The American people have an ability to overcome adversity, mainly due to our long term belief in God and hard work.

The American people never had a communist/fascist dictator in the White House along with a rubber-stamp majority in the House and Senate before. This will take more than belief and hard work - it will eventually take the kind of action that we should most dread. The tree of liberty will either be pruned or we will suffer under the overbearing web of communist kudzu that the democrats are weaving for us.

It's not just them being stupid, it's also that they can't comprehend what is real and what is not...
You can explain to them what is truth to them until your blue in the face, show them facts, and they will not listen to sound reasoning....
I think it's more than them being plain stupid.
Have you ever heard of people talk about how Adolf Hitler use hypnotic techniques to put people into a trance when he would give his speeches by his voice , tone of voice, and rhythm of his voice ? it's as if these Obama voters are under some kind of hypnotic spell of some sorts.. possessed by some kind of spirit...
Have you ever seen people glued to the TV watching MSNBC ? or the main stream media ?
Their mental / emotional / and physiological background may have a lot to do with it...
I have seen arrogant, self centered, belligerent, irrational, immature people who are Obama voters....
I would guess this current bunch in power in Washington appeals to that what is worst in human behavior.

Dont be troubled by the fate of our country, Nations come and go and this one will go too.

What should concern you is the fate of our freedom which is based in our natural rights. The concepts of natural rights MUST be restored and handed over to future generations. THAT is ALL that matters.

You want that feeling of “well being” back?

You want that absolute certainty that everything is going to be OK feeling back?

You want your freedom back?

Then give up the notion that we can coexist with people who want nothing more than to commit themselves, and us along with them, to slavery to the state and collective. If we are to be free and hand that freedom down to our children we are going to have to remove those people from having any influence over our lives.

While Americans were growing up like this, and celebrating the 4th of July, eating hot dogs and apple pie, Obama was in a mosque in Indonesia. That’s what’s wrong in this country.

“God means what He says. You can expect conditions in this country to get worse and there is not a politician alive who can save us.”
You hit the nail right on the head. The question is do we go down pitifully like mind-numbed automatons or like those who are true to our beliefs and heritage, even it means being hauled off to some future gulag?

I don't think most Americans today have the slightest clue about our heritage. They think our heritage has always been what we have today.

That's a big reason why we're in the sewer we're in.

And to be honest, I don't hold out much, if any, hope. I really believe we are too far gone to do what needs to be done to save our country.

God would have to step in and intervene and He has absolutely no reason whatsoever to do so.

Because McCain wasn’t conservative enough.

That is like explaining that lesbians don't have children within their relationships because one of them isn't man enough to be a father. In actuality, the problem is that neither is a man at all.

The real problem with the last election is that McCain, Giuliani, and Romney are all liberals and neither major party offered a candidate for non-socialists.Your sentence stated things well until you added the word enough, which made it false.

What is going to happen to our country ?

I'm not sure, but from what I'm observing, it appears it will somehow involve a handbasket and a unpleasant trip to a place with high temperatures.
