Patton giving one of his last public speeches in Los Angeles, 1945, before he returned to Europe and died after a freak automobile accident.
Patton Speech
TOPICS: History; Military/Veterans
KEYWORDS: army; patton; reagan; wwii
I've never seen or heard Patton actually giving a speech before. This is a very interesting piece, narrated by Ronald Reagan. It seems very appropriate for Memorial Day

I’ve come to dislike the movie Patton as it caricatures a great American as a prima donna.
Read Patton’s book War As I Knew IT, demonstrates him as an incredibly organized, logical, methodical war maker.

And both of their Fathers were Confederate Army Officers, IIRC.

I don’t know if there’s ever been a historical figure more associated with an actor than George C. Scott is with Patton.

According to Biden, we will if he's a clean articulate black man.

There was a book written by his aide whose name escapes me. I read it many years ago as the source for my college paper on the 3rd Army and it detailed at least 8 chapters of his WW2 exploits.

As a young man, I read a 2 volume biography of George S. Patton. It was highly motivational. He grew up in Pasadena, not too far from where I was raised.
