It’s sad when people just assume that because it was a Pit Bull that’s the reason this happened, I’d say there’s something more to this.

You’re right. Pit Bulls, when raised and trained properly, are probably no more likely to become vicious than most other breeds.

*************

I’m no fan of pitt bulls, but agree there might be something more to this — at the very least, it would’ve had to be a good sized and angry pitt, and that must’ve been a very petite 9 year old for it to so quickly knock her down and go for the neck just as she opened the door.
I’ll look for more details.............

I'd agree, foolish parents that allowed a pit bull in their home with children.

Perhaps you should do some research on this case and find out what the “something more to this” is and let us know..

I don’t know what more there could be to the story that would make it any different. Opening a door, having a piece of food, stepping on it’s paw, bumping into it, whatever....a dog should NOT react like this.......ever!

I have 6 dogs right now, one being a pitbull. The clarify, this is not a breed I would own, my son left for the Army and left here with me. I am struggling to find someone to take her. As sweet as she is to us, I wouldn’t take her anywhere near people.

My 2 German Shorthairs, I take everywhere, to ballgames, they play with the kids, etc. When my son (13) has friends over, she is in the crate. She has never shown aggression but like all of these stories....I don’t want a 1st time.

I am really struggling with this because I really don’t know what to do with her.
