I would be surprised if we don't see something that comes from this event in Yellowstone. At the very least I fully expect at least a gas release in Yellowstone sometime during this swarm.

I've monitored activity the park for over 30 years. Earthquake activity in Yellowstone continues at background levels. Swarm are common. Wow, arm chair seismology at its best, but hey, guess what, nothing more came from it.

Can you trangulate and locate all those quakes that the helicorders are recording - nope, didn't think so. Those recorders register quakes around the world, not just specifically Yellowstone. Here's the activity over the past week

Leave the science to real scientists, since your earlier predictions of an impending eruption were so far wrong. I'll wait with baited breath for your 'gas release' event (chortle)
Katla, ice-fields are prone to summer season shifts which are strong enough to produce minor quaking action. I don't believe we are seeing anything out of the normal here.
I have to step in here. Steve, had every right to chime up about something he is passionate about and certainly a hot-spot called Yellowstone, should be kept at least on the back burner. Yellowstone will one day blow...I hope there are more eyes upon it than just Steve's cause in this climate of science, I will trust casual observation sooner than schooled.

Point being, a scientific mind does not require a degree, it just has to be “biased” free.

Sorry, casual observation resulted in an abundance of tinfoil being wasted. It is one thing to see wiggles on a seismograph - it is something entirely else to correctly interpret those wiggles - and individuals who are untrained in the science doing the chicken little just because they see wiggles then posting as informed 'fact' is stupidity. Case in point on was the statement on just how "active" the park had been over the past week - except there wasn't much happening at all. And because of all that (non)activity we are all to stop our lives and expect at least an 'off gassing event'. Give me a break. Are you able to interpret those wiggles winnie? Well the people who can and have the proper equipment and software can and do that every day. I've worked with some USGS seismologists on an active fault that has been recently discovered at one of my project sites - they are very sharp. I give the learned a great deal more credibility than someone who can't interpret a seismograph.

No, lets get this very clear as there are significant differences. First, Katla is a historically active volcano that has pre-existing data for many of those eruptions - none exist for Yellowstone except for the deposits. Second, you need were to go BEYOND the quakes and look at inflation of the volcano and monitoring of the movement of magma beneath the volcano (something that was not the case with Yellowstone), there is cause for concern of an eruption, particularly because of the historic association with E15. Katla erupts once about every 60 years and has not done so since 1918. Third, I was careful to refer to the actual scientists monitoring the volcano rather than try to blow smoke on details that I admittedly did not know. In the future, try not to misquote me.

Bias free - LOL that is rich and apparently you are unaware of actual working of science. One can be as bias free as you can imagine - but if they know nothing of the principles involved, ignorant in interpreting the data, and wrapped with tinfoil in thinking that they 'know' more about the situation even though they cannot understand or interpret the data in-front of them - that makes them some how better than those of us who have studied the principles involved and do this for a living. Sorry winnie - that becomes a very dangerous bias - a bias of ignorance for the ignorant.

I know Katla i guess better than you, for none of it's monitoring stations are showing anything happening under it's glacier that is not within backround. Katla’s involvement with Eyejaf, is tentative at best, so the jury is still out if one influences the other.
Thirdly, I could give a crap if you have any experience what-so-ever, clearly your opinion is not correct on Katla so in my estimation you are no more sound a thought than Steve and quite possibly because of your presentation less.
