What do you do with millet?
Do you cook it like oatmeal and top it with fruit/milk?
Or is there some other way of preparing it?

If you’d like to most accurate way to use the Glycemic Index, look up “Glycemic Load.” Basically, it combines portion size with the Glycemic Index in a very useful way to truly determine the relative impact of the food you eat.

Don’t remember Kathleen Brown Rice? She lost to Pete Wilson in her 1994 bid for the California state house. Some documents from this campaign—one of the first to involve the use of the World Wide Web—are still available on the Internet.

Looking at the dates, it is something new in their diets.

Not traditional foods.

Boil water, about 1/4 cup of millet use 3/4 cup of boiling water and let it simmer on low heat until the water is gone. Stir occasionally. (cook it similar to oatmeal but it takes about 20-30 minutes). add a pinch of salt to your taste.

We add 1/2 teaspoon of olive oil for taste and serve it with scrambled eggs.

Hehe...They do eat a lot of sweets/snacks these days , and I’m not just talking about kids . And they are eating more bread but not of the healthy variety . Usually sweet as well or filled with some sort of sweety cream .

Yeah, seems that “they” (Whoever they are.. doing all these health studies lately) go by one 2 simple rules.

1)Does it taste nasty? Yes? OK its good for you.

2)Does it taste good? Yes? OK its bad for you.

No real rhyme or reason anymore.. or I guess all the Chinese who eat white rice with almost everything, are all obese and diabetic.. LOL

When the Middleeast goes to war again and America has refused to use it’s own resources, Many will be shivering in the Dark. Because they can’t afford the energy to Heat or Light their Homes. Then the Beauty of White Rice will surface. We will need the extra Energy Bump to Fight the Cold and the reduced cooking time will be a Bonus.

Using liberal double speak against them. Beautiful.

To me you can’t beat white Basmati (tastes kinda like popcorn).

That's my favourite, too.
