Cowardly matador arrested for fleeing ring
A Mexican matador was arrested for breaching his contract after losing his nerve and running from the bullring.
Terrified Christian Hernandez dropped his red cape and ran from the charging bull during an event at the Plaza Mexico in Mexico City on Sunday.
The 22-year-old vaulted over the protective wall at the side of the ring as the crowd hooted and whistled in derision.
He was briefly persuaded back into the bullring by organisers but gave up before coming face to face with half-ton beast and skulked from the ring a second time.
He was arrested after the bullfight following complaints by organisers that he had breached his contract. He was later released after paying a fine.
The torero, who was badly gored in the leg during a bullfight several months ago, admitted that he had lost his nerve and would now retire from bullfighting altogether.
"There are some things you must be aware of about yourself," he said. "I didn't have the ability, I didn't have the balls, this is not my thing."

“Scared matador runs away from bull”
Sounds like they arrested the smartest matador in Mexico.
What’s Obama doing in Mexico? I mean, besides sucking at everything he does?
Not that I would do that job, but this does come under the category of “Fail.”
He doesn’t shoot back.
Don’t worry coward matador... Mr. Obama has provided asylum for your kind. You will fit right into his administration.
Vivan los toros!
If he’s a “coward”, what are all the torture-loving losers who pay to sit in the stands and watch this barbarism?
Just doing the jobs us lazy, cowardly gringos won't do.
He shouldn't have made the left turn at Albuquerque...
Hook ‘Em Horns!!!!
Agreed. There are many types of courage. I knew a kid, many many years ago who would not fight anyone no matter the provocation to him, but would try to kill anyone he saw abusing an animal.
People who enjoy seeing an animal mutilated as Bulls are in these “fights” are the real cowards. They get a vicarious thrill watching others do what they could never do themselves.
To me a real bull fight would be a Bull and a man, no Matadors, no swords, just one on one and may the best man/Bull win.
