I thought there was never going to be another President (& wife) that I despised as much as the Clintons. Boy was I wrong!

The Obamas don't miss a day without a party or event.

They damn sure better enjoy it because 2012 can't get here fast enough!

Michelle Obama and the kids take on L.A.: Pizzeria Mozza, Pink’s, Lakers

Michelle Obama, her two girls and her mother swept into Los Angeles sometime Sunday like family tourists on a summer idyll.

Well, maybe not quite like typical tourists, since they were shepherded around in a convoy of black SUVs with numerous Secret Service agents in tow. Despite that, they managed to move surprisingly below the radar — it was a private visit after all — going from one trendy foodie restaurant to another before finally heading (or so we are told) to Staples Center to catch the Lakers and the Celtics playing Game 6 of the NBA Finals.

Along the way, Michelle Obama dined at Lucques on Sunday night, ate in the private Jack Warner Room at Pizzeria Mozza on Monday night (she set off a frisson of buzz in the main room among diners inured to the sight of usual Hollywood celebs), and ate a mild Polish dog on the patio of Pink’s on a sunny Tuesday afternoon.

“They came in, had their dogs and left,” said co-owner Gloria Pink. “And nobody bothered them. Everybody applauded as they left. They left from the patio. It was thrilling.” Eventually, some people got wise to their movements, but it wasn’t the paparazzi.

By late Tuesday afternoon, Twitterers were tweeting so frequently that you could cobble together a road map of the Obama family’s movements.

First Lady Michelle Obama is apparently getting a break - on an unannounced trip to California this week, her office said.

The First Lady’s trip is on “private travel the rest of the week with her kids,” spokeswoman Katie McCormick-Lelyveld said on Tuesday. She declined to offer further details of how long Mrs. Obama and the girls will be away, or where, exactly, in California they have gone.

Can you imagine how upset Barry must be that he has to stay home and work instead of watching his favorite sport?

Michelle Obama shares Hollywood hotspot with Ryan Seacrest

Mrs. O flew to L.A. with daughters Sasha and Malia to have dinner (with four other adults) at Lucques, where James Beard Award winner Suzanne Goin, who is both chef and owner, was in the kitchen cooking Sunday Supper, a $45 fixed price menu.

Last night, the first lady — and at least one of her daughters — was spotted by a TMZ photographer leaving Osteria Mozza, a restaurant co-owned by celeb chef Mario Batali. And who left the hot spot about an hour before Mrs. O? None other than Ryan Seacrest.

Michelle Obama Asked for Humanitarian Visas for Cuban Wives

Jun 14 (Prensa Latina) The only Cuban living in Cambodia asked Michelle Obama on Monday to intercede as a wife and mother for the relatives of five Cuban prisoners in the United States.

Osleidys Hernandez sent a letter to the US First Lady asking for her humanitarian intervention to allow Adriana Perez and Olga Salanueva to visit their husbands in prison.

Demands for humanitarian visas for the wives of Gerardo Hernandez and Rene Gonzalez have been supported by institutions like the World Council of Churches, among others.

The International Commission for the Right to Family Visits wrote to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano, demanding such visas.

Obama to head back to Nevada to help Reid

President Barack Obama will campaign with Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid early next month in Nevada, two Democratic sources confirm to CNN.

The trip will be the second time this year that the president has traveled to Nevada to team up with Reid. Obama and Reid joined forces at three events in Las Vegas in February, including a Democratic National Committee fundraiser.

In May of last year, the president headlined a fundraiser for Reid that was held at Ceasar’s Palace in Las Vegas.

Last week former President Bill Clinton spoke in behalf of Reid at an event in Las Vegas and recently first lady Michelle Obama joined forces with Reid in both Reno and Las Vegas.

Word of the president’s trip next month to Nevada was first reported by the Las Vegas Review-Journal. The White House is not commenting on reports of the trip.

We're told the outing is a "family event"

Does that make it tax deductible?
