A ladies-only booze cruise on the St. Croix River ended with a brawl Thursday night.

Police were called about 10 p.m. on a report of a fight on a boat that was docked at 225 Nelson St. E. in Stillwater.

In the end, five women were cited for disorderly conduct. No one was arrested and, though there were some cuts and bruises, no one was seriously injured.

The chartered boat, operated by Andiamo Enterprises, had been the site of KDWB's "Booty Cruise," an annual event featuring music, dancing, male strippers and on-air personality Dave Ryan.

A representative of the boat's operating company said the fight was "something about a shoe" but had no other details.

A KDWB representative said he hadn't heard anything about the

catfight.

"I'm not aware of anything. They didn't mention it on the morning show," said Rob Morris, operations manager for the station.

"It's a party, so anything can happen," he added. According to Stillwater and Bayport police reports, a employee from Andiamo Enterprises called because several women were fighting on the boat and some had been injured.

One witness identified Markeisha Donyae May and Kayla Dawn Glover and said they "were involved in the fight and were hitting and pushing girls on the boat," according to a police report.

May, 21, of New Hope told police someone had thrown alcohol on her and that the fight stemmed from a "race issue," a report said. She insisted she had not hit anyone but instead "pulled people away."

May was cited for disorderly conduct and became belligerent when Bayport officers questioned her, the report said.

Glover, 22, of Osseo was "respectful" to Bayport officers, but insisted "she did not hit anyone," the report said. She was also cited for disorderly conduct. Stillwater police cited three others: Sarah Jean Lawler, 21, of Maple Grove; Michelle Jeanne Cosgrove, 25, of Oakdale; and Miranda Estelle Cuffe, 26, of White Bear Lake.

Cuffe told police she wasn't exactly sure what happened. She said she was hit by something as she walked out of the bathroom and was knocked down, a report said. Cosgrove said she was behind Cuffe as she exited the bathroom and saw her get hit by Lawler. Cosgrove said she tried to get Lawler off of Cuffe and was hit in the head in the process.

Cuffe had a cut on her head, near her hairline, and Cuffe had a red mark above her eye, police reported. One witness said she wasn't sure what started the melee.

"To be honest with you I had no clue what happened. I just know that at one point I saw six, seven girls fighting and tussling. I went to go break it up and every time we tried to break it up, another fight broke out somewhere else," said Brittany Sapphare Paige, 21, of Apple Valley, reached by phone today. "One person had a pretty big gash in her head, another had a golf-ball sized knot."

The cruise had been fun and drama-free until the fights broke out, Paige said. "It was the end of the night and everything had gone so well," Paige said. "I just thought, 'Oh it shouldn't end so bad.' "

Bunch of drunken women, some of them more like girls, fighting over the male strippers.

Looks like it was pretty raunchy.

Not all where fat and not all were unattractive.

I'll wager than none are terribly bright either.

I saw a 87.9 to 91.3% guilty ratio.
