With fans turning the area outside the Nokia theater in L.A. into a tent city in advance of the "Eclipse" premiere, the Los Angeles Times examines the phenomenon of fans whose lives are upended by their fierce love of the vampire books and movies. The Times found women who have nearly lost their marriages by neglecting their husbands in favor of "Twilight" fan sites, blogs, and message boards. One woman gushes that she's seen the movies "over 300 times."
So-called "Twilight addiction" proliferates on the Internet, where a fan can take any of hundreds of quizzes to self-diagnose their condition, and websites sell hand-made crystal-encrusted T-shirts that say "Twilight Mom." Some "Twi-Moms" as they're known, have even argued that their love of Edward and/or Jacob has actually improved their marriages.

Not all of us! I just don’t see the afinity of this? Of course when I read a book I don’t want it to be a sappy romance novel but some thing real that I can learn from.
I’m sure they were very healthy relationships.
Losers
Sure seems like a way to make the dark side of Satan "cooler" and "hip".
I’ve posted this before. The relationship between Bella and Edward is a classic picture of an abusive, dysfunctional relationship.
Anyone who goes gaga over this “love” needs to examine their ideas of what constitutes a good relationship carefully.
Parents, if your young girls love this series, I suggest a good sitdown talking about what a good marraige prospect is, and how he can be expected to treat you, emotionally and physically. If you have to babysit your partners emotions to keep them functioning in the everyday world, they are NOT good to be with.
Twilight, the drama of teen angst choosing between necrophilia and bestiality.
I'll pay to see it if they'll do this version.
I see. Because it's really appropriate for a wife and mother to fantasize about the Jacob Black character - who was played in the film by a boy who had just turned 16.
There are about a thousand chubby former public school teachers currently under state supervision who attempted to "improve" their marriages in this manner.
The best vampire movie I ever saw was the BBC Louis Jourdan version of Dracula. Bad special effects of course (1970’s), but it is, strangely enough, a christian oriented vampire story.
For instance:
Dracula: A cooked bird for you, a human for me. What’s the difference?
Van Helsing: The difference between good and evil.
There are also numerous mentions of the saving power of Jesus Christ, mentions of the soul as a treasure that we must take effort to keep pure, etc. IMHO, the theme of this version is what spiritual warfare is and how it could carry over to the physical world.
It is also the very closest version of the original book. Many have problems with Jourdan but I think he deliciously underplays the part. If you can get past all the fake effects, I highly recommend it.
If you go around the web you may even be able to find it for free viewing.
Cthulhu sees you!
Idiotic. The books aren’t even all that good (well, the first one — I never bothered with the rest). The Harry Potter fandom I can understand, those were creative page-turners. Twilight is mediocre teen girl tripe.
LOL!!!
Enroute to Iraq, Twilight was one of the inflight movies. I was hoping Van Helsing would show up and whack the entire cast, including the humans!
The rampant and blatant bestiality in “Avatar” was enough for me. Vampires? No thanks.
You get it all here, beastiality and necrophilia and when the 4th one gets made, pedophilia. Or at least thought about since it is an abstinence tale.
I keep asking stupid question like:
Why would a 70 year old teenage vampire would actually attend high school?
Why would a vampire fall in love with an emo teenager non vampire ?
When did vampires start running up tress like cats and fly like birds.
When did vampires acquire the ability run super fast?
When did vampires break up into "good" vampires and "bad vampires" cliques ?
When did vampires sparkle in the sunlight ? I mean they are dead right?
