Hatch Will Vote Against Kagan
Hot Line ^ | 2 JUL 10 | Reid Wilson

Posted on 07/02/2010 10:05:10 AM PDT by kbennkc

Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-UT) will vote against Solicitor General Elena Kagan's nomination to the Supreme Court, he announced today.

"Qualifications for judicial service include both legal experience and, more importantly, the appropriate judicial philosophy. The law must control the judge; the judge must not control the law," Hatch said. "I have concluded that, based on evidence rather than blind faith, General Kagan regrettably does not meet this standard and that, therefore, I cannot support her appointment."

"Over nearly 25 years, General Kagan has endorsed, and praised those who endorse, an activist judicial philosophy. I was surprised when she encouraged us at the hearing simply to discard or ignore certain parts of her record. I am unable to do that. I also cannot ignore disturbing situations in which it appears that her personal or political views drove her legal views," Hatch added.

She is so unqualified for this job that its an offense on the part of the president even to have proposed her.

He is not fit to occupy the White House. He needs to step down or be removed.

Cool! Unfortunately, she’ll still get confirmed, but glad to know Hatch isn’t going with his finger in the wind.

Anyone who votes for her should be removed from office.

“glad to know Hatch isn’t going with his finger in the wind.”
****
Actually, Hatch is terrified that the Utah GOP will dump him next time around like they did Bennett. Doubt he’s voting against Kagan because of her lack of qualifications.

I have my doubts. Hatch is a RINO and he will probably cave with the other ‘Pubbies who lack the spine and intestinal fortitude to block her nomination.

At this point, I believe that zero could nominate Bugs Bunny to command our military and the spineless ‘Pubbies would vote to approve him.

I am truly sick to death of our politicians and our corrupt political process. Dump every single one of them!!

Yep. More than "voted for." He greenlighted her in advance of the nomination, and "sold" or "promoted" the appointment to the Senate.
