How so?
It does have "In God we Trust" on the other side
No
Latin for “Out of many, one”,
“The motto “E Pluribus Unum” was first used on our coinage in 1795, when the reverse of the half-eagle ($5 gold) coin presented the main features of the Great Seal of the United States.
E Pluribus Unum is inscribed on the Great Seals scroll. The motto was added to certain silver coins in 1798, and soon appeared on all of the coins made out of precious metals (gold and silver).
I got a few the other day.
Not sure why anyone would be offended. I’m full on yankee and thing pennies with the confederate battle flag on them would be cool.
Huh?
I’ve been grabbing them up myself. They are easier to find than those four Lincoln pennies. Those just disappeared.
Probably just me, but "Lincoln's Shield" just seemed a bit "in your face" as the south get's pummeled under current circumstance.
Sorry, enjoying a couple beers tonight; probably reading way too much into it.. /later
It looks like it should come from the “Hall of Justice” and should be a token in an arcade.
The face of Lincoln isn’t “divisive” to the South but his shield is? Got it.
I have a bunch
“Seems a wee bit “divisive” towards the south.”
Southerners aren’t “real Americans,” don’t you know? We’re all in-bred hick racist gun-clingers. Unlike the Yankee geniuses who are nose-diving the economy into the ground right now. /rant

As a revolutionary society whose currency is in demand over the entire planet, I have always thought (circa Johnson) that we should take advantage of the opportunity to propagandize those who are “governmentally challenged”. ‘E Pluribus Unum” and ‘In God We Trust’ are fine for domestic consumption, but for the sake of the ‘export market’ and today’s domestic market as well, more aggressive sentiments are in order. “Death To Tyrants”, “Live Free Or Die”, “It is Better to Die On Your Feet Than Live On Your Knees”, “Give Me Liberty Or Give Me Death”, or “With their pens and their voices they stirred themselves and the world. These are all selections that if printed on our currency would generate prodigious skid marks for China, Saudi Arabia, Russia, Iran, Pakistan, India, Peru, Chile, Mexico, South Africa, Yemen, Syria, and in this; the year of Our Lord 2010, I daresay they would generate a pucker factor of 12+ in ‘One Nation Under Obama’. In the immortal words of Captain Jean Luc Picard, “Make It So”. I’m just sayin’.
