New York (CNN) -- A heat wave of historic proportions could strike some northeastern states as forecasters warn of prolonged triple-digit temperatures that could trigger "a dangerous situation," the National Weather Service advised Monday.
The Weather Service has issued an excessive-heat advisory for several northeastern cities to take effect Monday afternoon as humidity levels gradually increase, producing heat index values to persist and surpass 100 degrees....

Hasn’t NJ had a ‘heat wave’ for the last month? It sure has felt like it!

Geesh, the heat and humidity we experienced in the South last month was FAR worse than what's going on up here now. Methinks these NYC-based "journalists" need to actually leave The City once in awhile and discover the rest of the US... lol

Sounds like the kind of temperatures we used to have when i was a kid in the 1960’s.
The Goreon and the Obamabots will attribute it to global warming. When it’s just part of the natural climate cycle.

I guess I’ll escape the heat when I go to Dallas this week for the grandbaby birthing? NOT!
Not all houses up here have central air. Some folks have window units in the bedrooms. The stubborn ones tough it out! We would never think of this in Texas - cental air all the way!
To: nutmeg
Exactly my point, it gets damn hot here in the midwest but isn’t important till it gets to the left coast.

A “heat wave” in the summer gives the global warming crowd hope that they can continue with their hoax and scam.

LOL! The temps are hot for a few days, but nothing historic.
BTW the humidity is currently a comfortable 28%! That's pretty remarkable.

Its been hot here in the midwest for a day or two but it only becomes blistering in the northeast. When you're crammed into a city, the air doesn't move around as much, so it feels even hotter!

Odd that this makes the news. Projected temps for at least the next week here in Southern Louisiana are well below the historical average. Haven’t seen any reporting on that.

Rare Snow Blankets South Louisiana
POSTED: 6:59 am CST December 11, 2008
NEW ORLEANS — People across south Louisiana called their friends, grabbed their cameras and headed outside this morning to document a rare and wonderful sight: snow.
The last snowfall in the New Orleans area was on Christmas Day in 2004. Before that, 1989 was the last significant snowfall. The sight is so rare that many children were seeing snow for the first time, and adults were seeing it for the first time in years.
About 8 inches of snow fell in Amite, where a building’s roof also collapsed from the snow’s weight.
The snowfall triggered crashes on major highways and left thousands without power. A jack-knifed tractor trailer on Interstate 12 West near Houma had traffic backed up for miles.
Schools, government offices and bridges were closed.

They used to put that shower thingy on our water hydrant when I was a kid. Wonder if they do that anymore? No, there is a water shortage and that would be considered tampering with government property, vandalism, and you would be charged, fined, and face jail time.....

Up here in the great White North I had to put my A/C on for the 2nd time in the last two years. It is hotter than the 5th or 7th Bolga of hell, I forget which.
I tried to put my dog out and he gave me the ARE YOU CRAZY LOOK and moved into path of the A/C Unit.

LOL! We gave up and finally put the two window units in for the bedrooms that are being used upstairs. We have a central air unit working for the downstairs, but we've been working outside building the lower of the two new decks on our house, so we haven't gotten around to setting up the new central A/C for the upstairs.
But with the window units, we'll sleep well, tonight!
