KAMYSHIN, Russia, - A Russian woman wrote a letter to the pope requesting an exorcism for her town's mayor due to a standoff over housing.
Svetlana Shults appealed to Rome after the mayor allegedly told her he would not include her in a government relocation program even if she wrote to the pope himself, the Moscow Times said Tuesday.
The letter, which was also published in Shults' hometown paper, asked Pope Benedict XVI to dispatch exorcists to the town of Kamyshin to purge the mayor of whatever it was that was causing him to adamantly refuse her repeated requests.
"My only hope is you. There is no one else I can write to," Shults wrote in her appeal to Benedict.
The Times said while the Vatican had not yet responded, the publicity may have done the trick. The town announced Monday it would get her into the housing program in the fall.
Demonic Mayor PING!
Whoa! I believe her.
