BERN, Switzerland (AP) - The Swiss government declared renowned film director Roman Polanski a free man on Monday after rejecting a U.S. request to extradite him on a charge of having sex in 1977 with a 13-year-old girl. The Swiss mostly blamed U.S. authorities for failing to provide confidential testimony about Polanski's sentencing procedure in 1977-1978.
The Justice Ministry also said that national interests were taken into consideration in the stunning decision.
"The 76-year-old French-Polish film director Roman Polanski will not be extradited to the USA," the ministry said in a statement. "The freedom-restricting measures against him have been revoked."

Obama and Holder’s payback to Switzerland for their agreement to turn over the UBS account holder names to the IRS. The fix was in.

Polanski later said “The judge was just jealous cuz he, and every man, wants to rape 13 year old and I did it but he did not.”
Polanski then went on to live with and st. rape a 15 years old actress in Paris.
And yet another actress has come forward recently with the same story.

It was a prearranged deal between Obama and the Swiss govt.
If Switzerland released the UBS account holder names to the IRS, the Holder would drop the Polanski matter.
If Switzerland didn’t release the UBS names, Holder would provide the evidence they were requesting.
Obama got the UBS names. And the Swiss got to keep Polanski.
Well, if the US didn’t provide the evidence requested by the Swiss to proceed with the extradition, then why should anyone be surprised that they will not do it?

You are correct. That is to hold someone without evidence. The fix was not in Switzerland.
The fix was in between Obama and the Swiss. The requested Polanski evidence was a bargaining chip in the UBS negotiations. It was not turned over by Holder on purpose because the UBS account information was turned over to the IRS a couple weeks ago.

The funny thing is that the Swiss really think they saved face on the UBS deal by freeing Polanski. Typical idiot socialist Nazi collaborators.

Yes, let us not ignore the reference that US authorities did not provide sufficient information to Swiss courts. US should have re-indicted RP for interstate flight to avoid prosecution, “escape” for failure to appear at sentencing hearing, etc. The Feds have sat on this case for years, not really pushing it. Now it is a “selective” non-prosecution case (ala Black Panthers voter intimidation) led by Holder and Obama who are tying to keep the good relations with Hollywood, Woody Allen-types, etc.

I have also placed Switzerland on my “do not travel” list, next to France. I think the population will understand as polls show they are generally sympathetic to US concerns about child rapists. Unfortunately the Swiss and Franch leadership do not appear to see the problem.

All of the libs who are boycotting Arizona need to be asked if they will boycott Switzerland after this decision. Of course, their answer will be no. And that will expose them as being supporters of both illegal aliens as well as rapists of children. They must be dancing in the streets of Hollywood tonight.
