Double rainbows are normal - every rainbow is a double rainbow, only the intensity varies.

Probably means there were two patchs of cellular rain, concentrated in a small radius of about a kilometer. Rainbows appear when sunlight is scattered from rain drops or drops of water, like near a waterfall. Since rain absorbs light, they are generally only visible from out side the rain patch. It is pretty common to see completely circular rainbows when flying over rain clouds. You will generally only see a rainbow when the sun is at your back and the rain storm is in front of you, will little or no intervening rain.

The coolest is seeing the end of the rainbow. One time one came thru my parents front yard while I was visiting, literally 20 ft. off the front porch. I stood in it and as you looked thru it everything was indeed multi-colored.

No I did watch it. It is perfectly consistent with my explanation. The rain patch in the foreground hides the left and upper part of the rainbow from the further rain patch for the most part. The sun is low in the sky and behind the camera.
