Wikipedia describes the concept of a homopolar motor:
A homopolar motor has a magnetic field along the axis of rotation and an electric current that at some point is not parallel to the magnetic field. The name homopolar refers to the absence of polarity change.
Homopolar motors necessarily have a single-turn coil, which limits them to very low voltages. This has restricted the practical application of this type of motor....
...The homopolar motor was the first ever device to produce rotation from electromagnetism itself. It was first built and demonstrated by Michael Faraday in 1821 at the Royal Institution in London...
Ever wonder what makes a spiral galaxy such as our Milky Way spin?
Same basic thing. X-ray telescopes are turning up pictures of the actual center of our galaxy and what the pictures show is a homopolar motor
Numerous other cosmic objects turn out to be the same thing:
The Thunderbolts forum article describes the phenomenon thus:
....A much different thought system sees the electric force as more fundamental than gravity. When considering new images from space, proponents of the Electric Universe emphasize structures that were never anticipated by the gravitational models but that were predicted by plasma cosmologists. As demonstrated in numerous laboratory experiments, electric currents in plasma can produce all of the common structures observed in the heavens, from simple filaments to the polar jets of stars and galaxies to the wheels within wheels found at the cores of nebulas and other high-energy formations. ....
It really doesn’t matter which way those motors swing... as long as they are happy. :>)
heh heh heh... you said ‘homo’
The seven faculty rules at the University of Woolloomooloo:
1. No poofters.
2. No member of the faculty is to maltreat the “Abos” in any way whatsoeverif there’s anyone watching.
3. No poofters.
4. I don’t want to catch anyone not drinking in their room after lights out.
5. No poofters.
6. There is no... rule six.
7. No poofters.
I always thought this motor was kinda ac/dc.
So... homopolar, bipolar. Sounds like they have a problem, eh?
Gravity has nothing to do with how spiral galaxies work, that’s the whole point. In fact gravity could not even begin to hold galaxies together given the distances and sizes involved. Other kinds of things which we read about in the media, such as black holes, also turn out to be fiction.
I see a pregnant Madonna in the last picture...time to go to bed.
Fascinating. Even nebula act this way. If this is a constant for all charged formations, we may have a glimpse into a unified state.
The exact counter to the speed of light is the speed of dark.
Ok, so what does hold galaxies together? Why do the spiral arms rotate around the center? Why don’t they just fly apart? Why do they look just like a hurricane?
Must be some kind of force not yet determined or explained that I know of. I’ve never heard of a concrete explanation, but then again, I’m just a layman.
Yes, I know the speed of dark well. It’s what is currently leading this country into the abyss.

The main propulsion for the Democratic party. And, it appears, for Pakistan.
I didn't realize that Duracell batteries and sheetrock screws were available to Faraday.
Seriously, though, what is your evidence against black holes?

“Ok, so what does hold galaxies together? Why do the spiral arms rotate around the center? Why dont they just fly apart? Why do they look just like a hurricane?

Electromagnetizm. Nothing fancier than that is needed. It's as clear as day in some cases:
A good example is the spiral galaxy shown above. The arms, particularly the upper arm, show material being held in a straight line until some point at which the field breaks down, after which material very quickly trails away and dissipates. Gravity and inertia cannot do things like that.
For starters, if there actually was a black hole at the center of our galaxy, you'd see material streaming into it from all directions, and not spinning around the core of the galaxy as the images actually show.
Things like black holes and dark matter are requirements of a paradigm which posits that gravity, the weakest force in nature, controls the cosmos at a macro level.
The basic problem is the distances and sizes involved. Our own sun and Alpha Centauri for instance comprise a system roughly comparable to two dust motes four miles apart. That's typical for our galaxy, and gravity simply cannot hold two dust motes together from four miles distance.Even the laughable claim that "dark matter(TM)" comprises 95% of the universe doesn't help the picture; that amounts to a claim that gravity can hold two dust motes together from one tenth of a mile apart, and that doesn't happen in real life either.
Isn't that the car company that builds the Prius?
We’ve found another “I Sing The Universe, Electric” person!
Way cool Bttt!
What that is telling you IMO, is that our models and theory’s of the universe are just that, and the universe will operate with our models and theory’s not standing.
The evolutionist will find a way to work it into his answer to you that there is no god, whether they do it subtly or overtly.
I could go on but that would be thread hi-jack.
Obviously that is a huge galaxy. Is that a quasar on the lower right? The thing is so bright it is burning up the film/ccd.
That entire image at the top is the center of our own galaxy from xray telescopes. The bright red thing I believe is Sagatarus A (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sagittarius_A*) which some view as a ‘black hole’, assuming they believe in black holes...
Anyone who tries to convince me that there’s no God is wasting both of our time....:)
