CORAL GABLES, Fla.- A Florida woman whose dog was killed by a crocodile is urging the city of Coral Gables to put up warning signs for other pet owners along the canals.
Adriana Salcedo, whose Jack Russell terrier was killed by a crocodile earlier this week, said she is going door-to-door collecting signatures on a petition. The petition asks city officials to install signs along the canals warning pet owners of the crocodiles' presence, WSVN-TV, Miami-Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., reported Friday.
Salcedo said she will deliver the petition to Coral Gables City Hall once she collects at least 100 signatures.
Alligators perhaps,,but not crocodiles.
Crocodile? I thought the American Crocodile was an endangered species? Are they making a comeback in a big way?

It’s sad that lady lost her dog, but who’s hanging out by those canals that doesn’t know they have gators? I grew up in Florida, and it’s pretty much common knowledge that any body of fresh water is likely to have a gator or two in it from time to time.
PS,, anyone want to guess the bag limit on buck deer during deer season??? .........................ONE A DAY!

Alligators dig ‘gator holes’ in the ‘glades that hold water through the dry season. Saves many species.

FWC Relocates Miami-area Crocodile, Offers Safety Tips

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC), along with licensed trappers, captured and relocated a nearly 11-foot-long American crocodile from a Coral Gables, Miami neighborhood.
This is the second time this particular crocodile has been relocated. The crocodile found its way back to the same neighborhood canal after the previous relocation.
This crocodile has been blamed for eating at least three neighborhood dogs. In order to protect their pets, pet owners should keep their pets away from the water or water’s edge, on a leash or in a fenced area.
Wouldn’t you just love to toss these traitorous Democrats into a pit full of these hungry monsters and watch them get torn to pieces?
Alternatively, occasionally let a dog get eaten to kind of remind the people in the area that alligators do stuff!

There is actually a National Crocodile Refuge at the tip of Florida......Estimated population is ~2000 individuals with large males growing to 20 feet......
