President Barack Obama promised the American people would never again have to foot the bill for the fall-out from the banking industry as he signed into law the most wide-ranging overhaul of US financial regulations since the 1930's.

I don’t think he can read. The most amazing thing to me about the entire Obama presidency is how incredibly shallow his depth of econ/history/financial policy is. Despite what we were told by the media, this is not a very smart man.

He has called together legislative bodies at places unusual, uncomfortable, and distant from the depository of their public Records, for the sole purpose of fatiguing them into compliance with his measures.
He has erected a multitude of New Offices, and sent hither swarms of Officers to harrass our people, and eat out their substance.
He has combined with others to subject us to a jurisdiction foreign to our constitution, and unacknowledged by our laws; giving his Assent to their Acts of pretended Legislation
He has excited domestic insurrections amongst us, and has endeavoured to bring on the inhabitants of our frontiers
The 'Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act' does nothing to address the root cause of our current financial disaster.
The Act is another step in the direction of more government and union domination of all that we do. Nothing in the Act controls Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac--they remain a multibillion dollar drain on the US Treasury--or the financial disasters their corruption and poor management have created.
This DC dog and pony show is getting boring. The Obama administration has done nothing to investigate and prosecute those who were engaged in illegal activities during the bubble years.
We're in deep, deep economic trouble. And these liberals are going to friggin' sing and dance along, all the way, as they dance off a cliff.
But yes, he's probably not well read nor experienced in a broad range of subjects that relate to what a Commander in Chief (Or Commander of Chiefs as he said on the campaign trail repeatedly) should be at least semi knowledgeable on. Remember how the media made fun of every misspoken word of Bush? The media loves Obama, and they will give him every benefit. He's presented as being a “nuance intellectual.” In reality:

Law enforcement
Intelligence
Foreign Affairs
Scientific
Business/economic
Staff
Military
A junior legislator
Young- with little life experience
Frankly I believe he's on a personal level not even really that interested in what a “Commander in Chief” does. Obama tipped his hand and really told us who he was and what he was about with the Beer Summit. He's a provincially thinking politician who built his career on race politics and, taking the popular positions on issues, and taking advantage of his talent as a speaker and in appearance. He's the least qualified president we have possibly ever had and I think right now his arrogance is all he has left, because the quality of his decision making is horrible and disconnected with the will of the people. The people voted for a name, symbolism, a concept that promised everyone everything even if it contradicts itself. The dichotomy of what he sold to the American people and what he can realistically accomplish is to great to bridge because even when he's successful and delivers great accomplishments in his own mind, he's in reality failing because he sold himself as being for everything to everyone, and that's not possible. His “demagoguery” will come to haunt him, even though the media will not report it as such.
Seldom in history have so few done so much damage in such a short period of time to so many!
