Today's the day, Freepers! Diana in Wisconsin turns fifty years old! (In Dog Years that's...Rhut-Roh! LOL!)

Help me celebrate! My actual party is tomorrow with family and friends here at the farm, but the celebration has been going on all week, so far!

And between the tortoise and the hare, we know who wins :)

Old Age and Treachery

(Troy Seals - Max D. Barnes - Waylon Jennings)

Old age and treachery
Always overcomes youth and skill
Ain't too much that we won't do
What Waylon won't, Willie will.

Even though we've spent our lives
Charging up the wrong side of the hill
Old age and treachery
Always overcomes youth and skill.

Some people say that our
Get up and go's, got up and gone
I don't know 'bout you Willie
But I can still jump as high
I just can't stay that high, that long.

Even though we've spent our lives
charging up the wrong side of the hill
Old age and treachery
Always overcomes youth and skill.

Young bull says old bull let's run
That heiffer down and have a ball
Let's make her squawl
Old bull says young bull let's just
Ease on a-down and love 'em all.

Old age and treachery
Always overcomes youth and skill.

Rosie loves the raquet ball
She won't do it but her sister will
Damn what'd you say that for
Ain't got a thing to do with this
I know what you're tryin' to do
Your tryin' to get half a song
OK, we'll put your name on it...

Go skydiving! It is the greatest thrill you can experience in life (other than emotional).

The new tandem rigs are very safe.

I instructed sky diving back in the 70’s, when they were still trying to figure out the systems. A lot of the fatalities were caused by mind-lock -— parachutes had to work a certain way and that was that. But some open-minded potheads came into the sport and changed it beyond measure.

Now, the ‘chutes are square instead of round. The ripcord is gone. In case of malfunction (rare now) the old capewell cut-away system has been replaced with a ring system than can put a person under a new canopy in less than 100 feet. It’s amazing.

The openings are soft, instead of the shocking blasts that we used to get when the reefing systems (used to slow the opening) failed to grab air. Man, I still remember those shocks; I saw stars.

You can experience freefall in your first jump. You will never forget it and will talk about it until the day you forget about life.

Jump. It’s beautiful!!

I did my jump into the 50s almost two years ago. We grew up in an amazing time, didn’t we?

Saturday morning cartoons.

Gilligan, Brady Bunch, Partidge Family, Get Smart, Adams Family, Batman, Bewitched, and on and on and on

Sting-Ray Bikes.

We could go out by ourselves at 8-years old and our parents wouldnt worry.

Yea, growing up in the 1960’s and 70’s - Great times....

HAPPY 50TH

Go for it!!!

I’ve had more fun with my life at 50 than I had the first 40 years... I think those were just practice.

Old enough to have acquired some experience and wisdom, still young enough to enjoy it!

So how long did it take? Some people stall out around 29.

I hope you’re making the AARP pay the return postage as you repackage their junk and send it back without enrolling.

Congrats! When I turned 50 a couple of years ago, I couldn’t get the Sally O’Malley thing out of my head ... “I’m 50, 50 years old, I like to kick, stretch, and kick, I’m 50!”
