Would You Buy an Electric Car?
Not sure -- I'd consider it, but even at $33,500 it's pretty expensive, don't you think?
Yes -- I would, even at $41,000
No -- The technology and price just aren't there for me, yet.

FREEP THIS POLL ***PING!*** FRmail me if you want to be added or removed from the Fearless Poll-Freeping Freepers Ping list. And be sure to ping me to any polls that need Freepin', if I miss them. (looks like a medium volume list) (gordongekko909, founder of the pinglist, stays on the list until his ghost signs up for the list)
Will the government fine me if I don’t buy one?
No -- I pay enough to the government, I'll be d@mned if I willfully give them another G-d D@mn dime!
I voted “no” only because there wasn’t a “Hell no. Not now, not ever! So Obama stick it up your wazoo”!
Push-poll. Two “yes” answers, one “No” answer that provides a reason different than many people will have, and an oddball answer.
And still the “No’s” are at 85%!
Yes, you sow while the likes of Rangel reap
Other than that,,, Hell NO!
He's such a dope . He buys a godzillion dollar boat the runs on wind power.
I didn’t vote because, No Fn Kerry way. I’d go to a horse first, wasn’t an option.
Since when is a tax credit equate to dollar for dollar...Fox news needs to get their numbers correct...41 grand does not equate to a bottom line of 33.5 after a 7500 dollar tax credit the last time I checked....
I saw it as yes no and maybe.
Why would I buy one?? I'd have to be nuts.
“does not equate to a bottom line of 33.5 after a 7500 dollar tax credit the last time I checked....”
True, but since it will be various feral, state and local gov’t agencies buying these things, it won’t matter.
And towing a nice 5th wheel.
Quits? It switches to gasoline.
I have my sights on a reVOLT rather than a VOLT.
I'd rather drive this!

In a way, we all have just purchased a portion of an electric car with our tax money propping up GM.
The chevy volt is not practical in any way and is being forced into production and there will be one time tax deductions for buying one. But the reality is that this toy can’t stand on it’s own in a free market.
The car buying public want/need reliable transportation, not a government mandated eco friendly fantasy.
Thank you for voting!

I suspect that it’s going to be a good long time before there will be an electric truck that can pull my Airstream trailer or boats. I’ll keep my Tundra.... It cost much more, but it’s worth it.
Hmmmm Maybe there’s a turbocharged Mini Cooper in my future... for around town and on those days that I want to feel 19 again. ;>)
I will buy one of those electric roller skates right about the same time that I would want to play tonsil hockey with Baba Wawa while wearing a Minnesoda Viqueens (Brent Faver) #4 jersey.
That wasn’t an option on the poll so I said “No”.
I drive my old Harley to my sailboat and my old truck to Lowes. That’s about it
You mean the Government Motors Doltsvagen? I hear everytime the horn sounds, a GM bondholder has ass pains.
someday they will do all that, but they have to stop subsidizing it. When they can do 100 total miles at all speeds with AC or heat running then you have a car.
Hell NO.They are NO good for cold environments.
These Auto manufacturers would have to prove they will operate safely and reliably in any weather before I would purchase one.
I like the idea of a small reactor under the hood that heats water to steam. The steam powers a turbine that constantly keeps the battery charged, and also charges a BIGA$$ capacitor for those extra bursts of speed. Closed system, very safe, but it won't ever fly because *it's nuclear*, and libs think it's scary.
If I could get an electric car that looks like a 69 GTO, has ice cold air, could go 400 miles on a charge, and did 140 mph, I’d consider it.
Hey I get Kerry...horse.

Kerry . . . . . . . . . . . . ............................................................. . . . . . . . . .Horse
(just in case there was doubt as to which one was which)
No choice of “ NO, I can’t even afford a bicycle because of Obama destroying the American economy.
Someday, Hubby and son are gonna build one for me in a small SUV frame. I’ll power it with the solar array they’re also going to build. We like doing things less expensively.;o)
We're sitting on an abundance if natural gas and hydrogen fuel is an option, but the green a_holes aren't having anything to do with practicality.
I admire your optimism,, but it will not happen in our life time,, the laws of physics require so much energy to do so much work. Only in the minds of dreamers does this work on dry land.
Sailboats are a different story though. :-)
If I could just get that disability check all the union members are working on,, I could live on one.../s
I would never buy an electric car. I live in a cold place and sometimes I drive over 100 miles a day. A diesel is much more suited for my driving style.
last car i saw that went 40 mi. and quit was a chevy vega
Where’s the heater? Where is the air conditioning?
If Obama doesn’t buy one of these... and Axelrod, and Pelosi, and Reid, and Schumer, and...
notice there is NO, NO choice... only no, NOT YET.
They probably wont fine you, but it won’t be long before you have apply for a permit to drive further that 25 miles from your home. I would guess that 25 miles if the max range for the Chevy Doltswagon.
I wouldn’t buy a go cart from GM and up until last year I bought nothing but GM products.
If they can fine people for not buying health insurance, there's nothing stopping them from fining you for not buying a government motors electric car.
Kerry is the other end of the horse.
If I had the money I’d buy one. Why wouldn’t I? There are some damned nice electric sports cars.
Sure, I’d buy a Tesla for a hundred bucks or thereabouts.
Only if it’s “free”. LOL What a piece of crap
I have my sights on a reVOLT rather than a VOLT.
I’m with you, FRiend.
And towing a nice 5th wheel.
You selfish capitalist./s
