You added 1 + 1 and somehow ended up with something other than 2.

Sorry for being unclear. Basically, every image from one of those publications can’t be posted (and check Corbis and Getty at the bottom). I’m not a lawyer, but posting them via a third party shouldn’t automatically “protect” anybody. It simply disguises the source.

I have a long haired Jack Russel, in fact I have 2 long haired ones. One has such long hair that no one believes he is JR so I had him DNA tested. He came out Fox Terrier and Australian Terrier. He looks more like a Jack/Lasa Apso cross but the DNA didn't show that. If I could post a picture I would but alas, I can't.

Did you click on the Acclaim images site?

There is a photo on that page and it says:

Free, Public Domain Image: American President Shaking Hands With a Senator In the Oval Office Stock Photography
Stock Photograph by White House Public Domain

I do not know if every photo on that site is public domain, but I was told they are. People can find out, if they want to post photos. I don’t post ‘em because I am a techtard but the topic interests me. Also AFAIK Flickr photos are (mostly) non-copyrighted.

If people post comments I don’t understand, I ask for clarification.

Your comment didn’t shed any light on the matter, btw.

Sorry, I didn’t. And I misunderstood. I thought Acclaim was a Photobucket-type service.

I admit again I am a techtard, and just passing on info that AFAIK is factual, since now photos are getting difficult to post.

Hopefully the Acclaim Images site will give people a few more options, along with the Flickr link.

I’ve been babysitting two Jacks for the past two days. One of them insists on sleeping in my car. So I had to pull the fuse that runs the interior lights so my battery doesn’t die (and hope it doesn’t rain). Any theories as to why this is?

Next time give a tissue warning. My screen is so blurry I can hardly type.

Any theories as to why this is?

They're incredibly intelligent dogs. Maybe the dog associates the car with going home and wants to make sure the car doesn't leave without him.

Back in my coon hunting days we would occasionally lose a dog. We would leave a coat on the ground. Later that night or even the next morning we would go back and find the dog sleeping on the coat or in the immediate vicinity.

MDS was a major box office success, netting almost 30 million in box office receipts.

The employees at the theaters where it was shown must have had a quite a sight to see as the audience exited the theatre after watching that movie, especially the last 6 minutes.

If there was a Kleenex concession stand set up, it would have made a fortune.

Not sure why it would give that warning. The info about the page says only that it rated low on privacy.

My husband and I are not movie goers. Neither of us had seen nor heard of this movie, but I was sobbing and my dh looked sort of moist in the eyes. Of course we lost a beloved dog in Jan so it really touched us.
Toby we miss you.

Most pictures on government websites, in their archives, are public domain because our money paid for the production of the pix. Such as Defenselink.mil And you can search for graphics on USA.gov and find imagery.

Never heard of a long haired JRT. Have been involved with the breed and had smooth, wire, and broken coat. I loved mine and will get another. Mine was a Courtwood dog. Great in “go to ground” and racing. He was a cat killer and hellion, but man do I miss that dog Barnie.

I picked this breeder because she advertised, smooth, wire and broken coated dogs. I was looking for a replacement for a broken coated rescue that had died of cancer.

The breeder was shocked at the litter's long hair. Hairy is full blood JRT came from a breeding kennel in Florida. We visited to make sure it was not a puppy mill and that they were well cared for. they were.

I picked him out from his mother at 3 weeks old. Mother was smooth coated so was the father. There were no other dogs there at the kennel and the fences would have kept a stray dog from breeding with any of the JRT’s. Hairy is a throw back to something that was bred in the distant past.

No one believes he is full JRT so I did DNA testing and he showed Fox Terrier (that is where they come from) and Australian Terrier (his hair and build).

I got an email from the breeder a few years ago and she said she had another litter come out like Hairy.

My other long haired JRT is Cookie, she has shorter hair than Hairy but it is still longer than usual. Hoot is short haired and typical JRT except he has Fox Terrier ears.

We have had 12 or 14 JRT in the last 15 years or so, half rescues, half we bought. So I am no stranger to the breed.

I think the breeder I dealt with has either gone out of business or sold out. Try www.butterballfarm.com and see what you get.
