Quicktime doesn’t belong on any computer.

The new one does on OS X. It rocks. It even does live screen recording.

That said, I still use VLC for DVDs because it ignores the stupid mandatory clips and images. VLC is also the basis for the encoding ability of Handbrake, the best software around for turning a DVD movie into an MP4 file (PC or Mac).

To get the recording feature, you need QuickTime Pro. That's $30.
