Nolan Ryan > Mark Cuban

At least we don’t have to sit through Mark Cuban Tirades when the umps miss a call. Ryan has some class.

Nolan Ryan could have won more games than anyone but Cy Young if he had played for a good team past the 69 Mets.

Good, now Cuban can move on and buy the Astros.

And, Ryan will put you in a headlock and punch the daylights out of you. I wonder who would win a fight between Chuck Norris, Ditka, and Nolan Ryan?!

Ryan has some class.

And he'll now thank President Obama for making it all possible.

Oh wait...that was Dan Rooney of the Steelers.

Thank God. One thing is that the Rangers arguably have the best GM in baseball with John Daniels.

If the Rangers didn’t get Ryan as the owner, he had an out clause in his contract to go to another team next year....and let me tell you...the line forms to the left for Daniels.

I’m not much of a baseball fan, but the less Cuban the better.

Is this final...the Nolan Ryan group wins? I sure hope so... Cuban is SUCH a POS.

Earlier on Baseball Tonight (midnight ET), John Kruk said "Mark Cuban would be great as owner of the Rangers... I'd play for him in a minute if I could!"

How disappointing... I've always liked "Krukie" until maybe now...

Yep, we don’t need a POS 9/11 Truther owning a Major League Baseball team.

Oh, also on Baseball Tonight earlier (12m ET), a reporter who was in the court room said there was much “shouting and foul language” going on at one point. He didn’t mention that this was coming from Cuban specifically, but you be the judge... ;-)

Thank God! I was worried we would see a liberal monopoly on Texas pro-sports teams. Mark Cuban should die in a horrible grease fire.

Krukie is a Philly leftie like most of ESPN.

I’m sorry to hear that. Many athletes (particularly those from the south of course) are conservatives, or lean conservative. I was hoping the “lovable” Krukster was one of ‘em. Guess not...

Actually it was not Cuban
A lot of it was Chuck Greenberg and Nolan Ryan’s attorney and the Chief Restructuring Officer (CRO) for the court

A lot of people are breathing a sigh of relief. Things could have gotten ugly if Cuban had won. Selig wants no part of Cuban as an MLB owner, and was even threatening to shut the Rangers down if the bankruptcy judge allowed Cuban to buy.

From what I’ve seen, though, there could still be some hurdles to getting the Chapter 11 plan confirmed. A lot of creditors have objected, including the biggest unsecured creditor, one Alex Rodriguez.

And more importantly, have you noticed since Ryan became actively involved in the day-to-day running of the Rangers they’re now leading the American League West? And by a long way?

As an Astro fan, I was hoping that Cuban would win, so Nolan and company would make Drayton McLane an offer. Obvioulsy our present ownership/FO has no interest in the team.

Nope, Nolan Ryan is a conservative. In fact there was a little speculation a while back about state office.

The players are definitely happy that Ryan/Greenberg won the auction.

We all have a “what the hell was I thinking” moment. This was Robin's. On the other hand, we all have a “gotta do what I gotta do” moment. This was Nolan's.

How did this happen? Cuban was ready to pony up 1 BILLION dollars for the Cubs...are the Rangers really worth nearly 2/3 less than the Cubs?
