Awkward family pet photos
Everyone thinks their own pet is the cutest but when some families take a picture with their beloved animal, the response isn't always the collective "awwwwww" they wanted. These are some of the worst family pet portraits from
Awkward Family Pet Photos, a website that celebrates when the family pet portrait goes so bad it's good. Want more? Awkward Family Pet Photos is due out in paperback in the fall of 2011.

This was my brother and me in a crib that our dad had built, along with Sadie the cougar. We were modeling for his furniture, but who knows whether or not this confusing pic gave credit to his woodworking skills.

Somewhere, my dad has a picture of himself at the age of five, sitting for a photo with Petey from The Little Rascals. It was on the boardwalk at Coney Island in 1937.
He looks terrified, because Petey was a surly little pit bull.
I need to find that picture.

Petey the Pup is buried about 5 miles down the road.
He was owned by one of the character actors who appeared in a few of the Little Rascal shorts.
She was the one who played the granny in a few of the episodes.
She is buried in an unmarked grave at Batsto Pleasant Mills Cemetery, in NJ.

I wonder which granny it was. I remember the one who roller skated around her mansion and shot all her pills with a slingshot. And there was the other granny who boxed the kids and unknowingly had a fortune in bearer bonds that she tied to a kite.

If I recall what my grandmother told me correctly, she was the one who flew a kite.
BTW, I always put flowers on her grave for Easter and Christmas.
It would be nice if Hollywood chipped in enough to buy her a headstone.(there is a marker)

BTW there were a number of Pete the Pups, the older one had a circle around the left eye, the younger had a circle around its right eye.
