My daughter got a call yesterday, she's been called back to her job beginning Monday.
It's been a long, hard 7 or 8 months!
Praise be to the Lord God Almighty!
That’s great FRiend! I hope I can get a job someday too, 2 years out of college and I’m still unemployed :(. but congrats to your daughter! :D
Another job saved by Obama?
SWAMP, this is great news! G-d is Good! All the best!
Thank God for Obama’s stimulus. < \sarc>
Good for her! Did they try to get along without her? Hire a bunch of nimrods and say, “y’know. We need that woman back”!
Congrats.
God bless your daughter!
I’ve been searching for over a year.
Age can make a difference.
Congrats to her!
I went through that unemployment thing in 2003 and anyone who is enduring that has my sincere empathy.
I'm very happy for your daughter.
That is great. Just wish she had been POTUS.
Praise Obama! /s
You will get older than you imagine faster than you now think possible. Pick a path and keep moving. Tempus Fugit!
Milk maid? Nuclear physicist? Brain surgeon? Stripper in Vegas?
I’m glad for you and your daughter she has a job again without the stress and fear of unemployment, but it would have been nice if you gave us some miniscule inkling as what job she lost and regained. Some of us follow the economy and like to know the details.
Thanks.
I’m happy for both of them. And for you, since they belong to you. :)
Great! Congrats to both of you!
The company she works for handles warranty service claims for many manufacturers. They dispatch service personnel who are private contractors. It’s a young company but the potential seems good, if the economy doesn’t founder.
Good for her!!
I wish I could say the same.
Great news! Now, you be sure and concentrate on taking care of those eyes of yours, so you can keep bringing us those purty pictures!
Congratulations! My daughter finds out Monday if she gets a temporary job for which she interviewed yesterday.
I've never had binoculars or a telescope that would beat that old Minolta lens for clarity.
Thanks for that. Well, good luck to her. Being out of work several months is painful but is a life-long lesson to hope for the best but to really “prepare for the worst”. I’m sure this lesson will stick with her. Hopefully she won’t be without work in the future. It is a terrible feeling and extremely stressful.
It sure isn’t what I’m used to. I was never without a job more than 36 hours for 50 years. I wasn’t always doing what I wanted to do, but there was always work.
What was your field(s) of study in school, outside interests and part-time work you have held? What general area are you located in?
If you can provide this, who knows what brainstormed maddness we might think of that would be something you hadn’t thought of to try to focus in on.
I would begin by suggesting you call every classmate from your high school graduating class and everyone from your college classes that has found work and tell them you are still looking and specifically ask for their help. It will feel somewhat degrading — but do it anyway.
Business firms don’t have steady need, they could not need someone today and a new contract or order tomorrow could change that need. Timing is everything and personal connections are extremely important to get a turn in the batters box.
You have our best prayers.
