Gosh you need lots of math to make any money. Didn’t see that one.

Finance major in progress, I make more at my internship than I did as a full time GM for a hospitality company. I also enjoy laughing at the social work and interdisciplinary studies people... I think they should rename the interdisciplinary studies degree “I don’t excel in anything” degree.

No sure, sounds like they’re lining up for gov’t jobs.

But I can’t see how someone with a degree in women’s studies has any marketability in the job market.

I used to think the same thing. Then I stumbled across a list of all the federal gummint grants that cater to this crowd.

I have never been able to decide whether I want to see all of these majors nuked or am glad they exist so that the people who take them stay isolated from those on campus actually trying to learn something.

I just went back to school for chemical engineering my self. I laugh at the students who rack up 50K in debt for a 30K job.

Yup, the highest-paying degrees all involve math/science (except the Government major):

Correct. Just goes to show that if you can master something useful (except for the government major), you will earn more than if you excel in the useless.

I wonder where plumbers, electricians, and other skilled trades would fall on that scale. I suspect they'd be fairly high, or at least they would have scored high before the illegals flooded the home-building market in some areas.

From the article:

“If you’d rather end up with one of the best-paying college degrees, you’ll have to major in something that requires a lot of math classes.”

You could take any one of the “20 worst” degrees listed, add math, and make more money.

Interesting list and bears out my opinion that you can’t go wrong with just about any engineering degree. Wish more kids were counseled about their study choices before they waste four years on something that won’t ever keep a roof over their heads.

Yep! Nuke medicine is a very good paying field for a 4-year degree, and demand is definitely high. I live near Yale, and i know several young people who make well over a hundred grand a year in Nuke medicine.

I beg to differ. Working in government places a high premium on the ability to lie. And, while figures don't lie, liars certainly need to know how to figure.

There's always a need for a professor or program develop-
ment gal to tell a college or university that they need
more women's studies people.
