Jennifer Aniston Slammed for Suggesting Dads Are Optional in Families

Jennifer Aniston’s recent comments about how men are optional in child raising has sparked outrage from those who believe the 41-year-old actress has an unrealistic perception of what it really takes to raise children alone.

“(Promoting single parenthood) might be the norm in the Hollywood, but the rest of America believes children deserve and need a mother and a father,” Nathan Burchfiel of the MRC’s Culture and Media Institute told Pop Tarts. “Life is extremely difficult for single moms, with about one quarter of them living below the poverty line. But of course Jennifer doesn’t have to worry about that given her financial resources.”

Hollywood doesn’t make imbeciles, but it certainly attracts a larger percentage of them from the population than any other profession.

But of course! The unwed mothers and absentee fathers in the US are a true tribute to our society, culture and nation. Who needs families?

She should be slammed - the afro-american portion of our nation is a matriarchy - and look at them! A total disaster - the source of most of our street crime. They need fathers and all kids need fathers. The left's attack on fatherhood in America is literally un-manning us and the consequences are all too obvious.

No brains, education, or training required. They are hired for their looks and their ability to remember or read lines. Just like Obama. Their mistake is always talking off script when they reveal themselves for what they really are, stupid.

The fantasy that women can rise children alone needs to come to an end!

I was blessed that my father could step in and be a male role model for my 3 oldest boys. Boys and girls need good male and female role models to help them become fine men and women.

The very thought that a man or a woman can raise a child lone without an opposite sex partner is lunacy.

"Given the quality of father she had, this is unsurprising."

Actually, she had a great father. Her mother was nuts, but her father was terrific. I think for a period of her life, she actually lived with her dad and not her mom.

FWIW, her dad went to college on an NROTC scholarship, completed his active-duty obligation and then served for YEARS in the active reserve.

I think it has to be because they mostly put out perversions, their same liberal themes, anti-family, pro-Communist, horrid violence, etc. etc. etc. I am GenX but can hardly stand much out of that place anymore. I do enjoy many old movies...

Yes. Women are inherently more suited to teach some virtues; men more suited to teach others. Fathers, among other things, are around to show boys how to play hard but display magnanimity. Prisons are full of men who never learned when to back off. Of course either sex can teach any virtue and many kids become virtuous despite their parents.

"Our very own, Laura Ingraham, would agree with Jen."

There is a WIDE divide between a single woman adopting children from 3rd world countries - children that would otherwise be condemned to a life of misery and grief, and the premise of Jennifer Aniston's latest movie - a thirty-something professional women undergoing artificial insemination because she doesn't want the hassle of a man in her life.

In Dobson’s book “Bringing Up Boys”, he talks about how the feminist movement changed education...None of these women ever had children yet their beliefs forever changed how we educate and raise our children....in “GOV Co.” (Larson Charlotte, NC) schools.

In my work group of seven, four of us have children — 15 kids among a dad and three moms. Only my three kids live in a two-parent household.

Just wonder what kind of future these fatherless kids will have.

Aniston is more than annoying — and I seem to recall that some time ago she had major issues with her mother and did not speak to her. Not sure of her relationship with her father but parents are divorced, of course.

I hope she is not planning on having or adopting a child anytime soon.

Nothing, they were imbeciles to begin with. Movie acting really doesn't' take that much talent, so these people are selected for how they look, and little else. Then the fame goes to their head and the put their imbecility on display for the world to see. The problem is that many in that world mistake celebrity for wisdom, or even intelligence.

It's a bit like the "show dog lines" verses "hunting/working dog lines" They be beautiful, but dumb.
