Jennifer Aniston’s recent comments about how men are optional in child raising has sparked outrage from those who believe the 41-year-old actress has an unrealistic perception of what it really takes to raise children alone.

“(Promoting single parenthood) might be the norm in the Hollywood, but the rest of America believes children deserve and need a mother and a father,” Nathan Burchfiel of the MRC’s Culture and Media Institute told Pop Tarts. “Life is extremely difficult for single moms, with about one quarter of them living below the poverty line. But of course Jennifer doesn’t have to worry about that given her financial resources.”

She thinks fatherhood is like her God-given noose. It’s optional.

The fantasy that women can rise children alone needs to come to an end!

I was blessed that my father could step in and be a male role model for my 3 oldest boys. Boys and girls need good male and female role models to help them become fine men and women.

The very thought that a man or a woman can raise a child lone without an opposite sex partner is lunacy.

"Given the quality of father she had, this is unsurprising."

Actually, she had a great father. Her mother was nuts, but her father was terrific. I think for a period of her life, she actually lived with her dad and not her mom.

FWIW, her dad went to college on an NROTC scholarship, completed his active-duty obligation and then served for YEARS in the active reserve.

Heh. When I was 41, I’d been married 19 years and had eight children. LOSER Anniston ... who cares what she thinks?

Jennifer is pretty, but I’d never ask her advice on anything.

I think it has to be because they mostly put out perversions, their same liberal themes, anti-family, pro-Communist, horrid violence, etc. etc. etc. I am GenX but can hardly stand much out of that place anymore. I do enjoy many old movies...

Trying to make herself feel better for losing Brad Pitt, who wanted children when she wanted a career.

Yes. Women are inherently more suited to teach some virtues; men more suited to teach others. Fathers, among other things, are around to show boys how to play hard but display magnanimity. Prisons are full of men who never learned when to back off. Of course either sex can teach any virtue and many kids become virtuous despite their parents.

"Our very own, Laura Ingraham, would agree with Jen."

There is a WIDE divide between a single woman adopting children from 3rd world countries - children that would otherwise be condemned to a life of misery and grief, and the premise of Jennifer Aniston's latest movie - a thirty-something professional women undergoing artificial insemination because she doesn't want the hassle of a man in her life.

"Who is this woman?"

Who's Jennifer Aniston? Have you been locked up in Supermax for the last 20-years?

To: OldDeckHand; All

her movies have all bombed.

She is a sad comment on the price of stupidity.

We don’t believe her as an actress why would we believe ANYTHING she spews?
