Candidate apologizes for Sarah Palin death wish post on Facebook
Boston Herald ^ | 8/12/00 | Boston Herald

Posted on 08/12/2010 8:31:14 AM PDT by raccoonradio

CONCORD, N.H. — A Democratic candidate for the New Hampshire House has apologized for posting a death wish for Sarah Palin on Facebook.

Keith Halloran of Rindge made the comment in response to a Republican lawmaker’s post Tuesday about the plane crash that killed former Alaska Sen. Ted Stevens. When the lawmaker expressed disappointment that some news accounts of Stevens’ death focused on negative aspects of his career, Halloran responded: "Just wish Sarah and Levy were on board," an apparent reference to Palin and her daughter’s ex-boyfriend, Levi Johnston.

After the leaders of both political parties denounced his comment, Halloran posted an apology on his Facebook page, saying he wishes the best for Palin, Johnston and their families.

Yeah, an apology (which was only issued AFTER the idiot was lambasted/caught) ought to fix it all up......reminds me of a criminal that commits a crime and after being caught, apologizes....how frakin’ quaint. =.=

It’s good that people like this reveal who they really are. Even if the voters are too dumb to care, the information is out there for anyone who might (for example) consider taking a job for the creep, or doing business with him.

The loons hate Sarah because she is a career killer for them. When Sarah comes along, Democrat candidates worry about having to get a real job.

Part of the danger of the web is the eteral nature of the beast for future viewers- who likely will not see a follow-up post of a phoney apology.

also from that page
>>Halloran issued the following response Wednesday to News 9, stating, “I have no interest in stirring up this tempest in a tea party tea pot who will do anything to cause more harm to our country. This is nothing out of nothing.”

But Thursday morning, Halloran posted an apology to his Facebook page.

“For those of my neighbors who know me and know my true nature, I wish to offer an apology for my post on my Republican friend’s DJ Bettencourt’s Facebook page, and want to reassure everyone that I wish the best for Sarah, Levi and their family,” he wrote.

We really have to vote these people out and KEEP them out of public office!

You stay classy, Dems
Rick Moran
As far as some New Hampshire Democrats are concerned, there was only one thing wrong with the plane crash that killed former Senator Ted Stevens in Alaska:

Sarah Palin wasn’t on board:

In a Facebook post, [Keith]Halloran, who describes himself as “an active local citizen and supporter of NH Governor John Lynch,” said of the plane crash, “Just wish Sarah and Levy were on board.”

Halloran serves on the Rindge, NH Planning Board and is a Democratic candidate for State Representative in Cheshire County. He is a prominent supporter of Democratic frontrunner Ann McLane Kuster, who is running for Congress in NH-02. His comment appeared in response to a post by another Facebook user on the tragedy.

New Hampshire Republicans were not pleased with Halloran’s remarks.

“Mr. Halloran’s outrageous comments are a new low, even by the standards of the New Hampshire Democrat Party,” said New Hampshire GOP spokesman Ryan Williams. “His publicly stated death wish for Governor Palin and her family is abhorrent, and has no place in public discourse. Governor Lynch and Ann McLane Kuster need to immediately denounce Mr. Halloran’s hateful remarks and demand that he personally apologize to the Palin family.”

Halloran isn’t alone among New Hampshire Democratic leaders in wishing ill toward the controversial former Republican Vice Presidential nominee.

Natch Greyes, a staffer for Democratic Rep. and Senate hopeful Paul Hodes tweeted the following on July 21st: “I have to wonder if & or when @sarahpalinusa will learn the meaning of our state motto: “live free or die.”

You stay classy, Dems.

Keith Halloran

Metrosexual Extraordinaire. Check out his platform below. Typical Democrat hogwash. High on touchy-feely and far, far short on specifics. He may as well just say that he likes rainbows, evenings alone with a good book and cats.

1) Tax Relief, Restraint & Fairness

New Hampshire has long been a tax-relief haven for thousands of familes who sought refuge in New Hampshire. But in 2008, Property Taxes in NH are reaching historic limits, with heartbreaking record mortgage and tax foreclosures, and New Hampshire families need relief. We need to carefully examine our current tax policies and explore responsible options for the future, and resist and move beyond paralyzing pledges.

Current taxes challenge working families, the retired, and our youngest citizens. New Hampshire is a prosperous and prudent state - let's use New Hampshire's REAL advantages and carefully prioritize our investments and obligations, and share fairly, in how we provide for our citizens and families, and pay for our state and local services.

2) Healthy & Secure Kids & Families

New Hampshire Kids are New Hampshire's future. And Healthy Kids & Families mean a healthy future for New Hampshire. Kids need families who stay together, who can KEEP their homes and HEAT their homes, and get the quality of health care, education, mentoring and guidance they need as the foundation for a healthy and productive future. New Hampshire has a lot to work with when it comes to NH Kids & Families. Lets invest in the future of our New Hampshire Kids and Families, and our own.

3) NH Jobs & Smart Growth

New Hampshire has a vibrant, renewable, sustainable economy, but one that also faces real evolving challenges. New Hampshire is one of the original 13 colonies, dedicated to independence and free determination. We can be proactive to create conditions and incentives that attract and protect local industries, that leverage our competitive advantages, our local talent and innate resourcefulness. I am a pro-business, pro-jobs MBA who will work hard to encourage and reward any New Hampshire initiative that invests and builds New Hampshire jobs and industries.

4) Affordable Renewable Energy

New Hampshire faces unprecedented pressures this winter, and the winters ahead, as home heating oil and natural gas prices shatter all previous levels, forcing families to choose between heating and eating, fuel and food. But New Hampshire has local resources and industries that offer a local solution - affordable, renewable energy. I am a fierce advocate of the local companies and technologies that offer real opportunities for local businesses and jobs, and real relief for working families in New Hampshire.

Good lesson for everyone. I've re-written many a post when, thank goodness, it occurred to me before hitting "send" that it will be read by people who don't know me and don't know how I meant it. Something that sounds jocular spoken can sound pretty cold in print.

And in the political world people often forget that the people they are talking about are not mere symbols, but they are also people. Which means certain kinds of attacks are legitimate and some are beyond the pale. When you are sharing a beer with friends talking politics the line can get blurred but when you are putting it in print for the entire world to see forevermore, you need to give a little more thought to what you say.

It’s good that people like this reveal who they really are.

It’s an odd pairing that he directed his hatred at Sarah and Levi. It shows that the hatred is not directed at Sarah because she is a conservative, because Levi doesn’t appear to be a conservative. It’s not because she’s a Republican. Levi’s not a Republican. Levi’s not a member of the Palin family, so it can’t be family hatred. It’s not hatred of women, Levi is male I think.

What Sarah Palin and Levi Johnston have in common is that they are both members of the country class that have achieved name recognition. Country class people are supposed to quietly sit back and pay their taxes, stay in the red states, and not embarrass the ruling class by making it known that they exist. This is a class hatred, the kind of hatred that is one step away from gas chambers and mass euthanasia.

Class and group hatred is generally reserved for a minority group. This hatred is directed by a powerful minority against the majority. It can only prevail if the majority remain asleep. Thankfully, there are idiots like this guy to tell us who they are.
