Is it me or is this just a great commercial from the past? The music, the message, the faces, the people, hard work, etc. They don't seem to make em like this much anymore....love the ending when the jet is taking off and the music seems to peak.......

Idunno but allow me to use this opportunity to say that some of nastiest, most vindictive petty dictators I've ever had the opportunity to run across worked for the airline industry.

For people to make that faggot out to be hero is the outrageous thing I've heard...all day.

Back when people knew how to compose music and lyrics. I wonder if this is a Paul Williams composition?

Am I dating myself by saying I sang the whole commercial with it? I love jingles. They don’t have them in today’s commercials.

However, I do remember when I saw that commercial the first time I thought the stewardess was an older lady like my mom. Now she looks so...young. Geez.

Yep.....it’s all sex and vulgarity now....Groucho Marx used to say.....it doesn’t take talent to be vulgar and obscene......he was right. (like Johnny Carson the Marx brothers knew just how far to go.......and of course they had wit and talent and were clever)

LOL....I don’t know if you are being sarcastic or not....in any case....when I watched it.....I appreciated that everyone was working and didn’t notice black, blonde, or any of that....I just noticed happy faces and a great little song and great lyrics and like Ronald Reagan....it made me feel good to be an American......

Great old commercial when there were no Flaming Queers prancing around inside the planes.

Nowadays enjoy to pay for carry on luggage then get verbally abused by a gay stewardess.

The only better thing about flying in the early seventies, was watching the cute Southwest stewardess’ pouring coffee for folks on the other side of the plane, and looking up their mini-skirts from your aisle seat!

I remember flying as a little kid back in the ‘70s. I always got pinned by the stewardesses (and once or twice by the Captain back when they’d invite us little boys in the cockpit to talk about gladiator movies and Turkish prisons).

Does anyone remember the slightly older (1968ish) American Airlines "Fly the American Way" commercials?

I've been looking for audio or video for years--any help would be appreciated.

That was before liberals “progressed” us (aka culturally cleansed us) beyond that kind of “hate.”

I am a constant observer of how our TV entertainment and ads have changed. I am probably older than you, and I remember when there were no black people on TV, except for Rochester. LOL

No, I wasn’t being sarcastic. I think we have truly come a long way and I am very proud to be an American.
