DAN FANELLI CONFRONTS ALAN GRAYSON'S RACIAL SLURS AT PRESS CONFERENCE

ORLANDO - Dan Fanelli, LCDR USNR ret., District 8th Congressional Candidate, will publicly respond to the outrageous charges leveled at him by Congressman Alan Grayson in his latest fundraising letter. His comments will come in front of City Hall (on the corner of Orange Ave. and South St.) on August 17th, 2010 at 3:30PM.

Below are highlights from the deceitful propaganda sent out by Grayson:

(1) “My opponent, Dan Fanelli, thinks that only brown people should have to pass
through security at the airports. Because all terrorists are brown people....”

(2) “What Fanelli and his Republican bigot friends are saying is that American citizenship comes in two versions: white and nonwhite.... Because they want to degrade and put down everyone who isn't just like them.”

GRAYSON THEN CONTINUES BY ASKING FOR (WHY SHOULD WE BE SURPRISED?) more MONEY, and has the gall to end the letter with the closing salutation “Truth”. Mr. Grayson, nothing could be further from the “truth” than your spoken words and writings!

While Grayson’s bank account is bulging with cash, his tasteless pack of lies has been used to divisively mislead good people by tricking them into giving him MORE money.
Yet, he has done nothing to bring jobs back to help the many unemployed and suffering residents of Central Florida.

His use of false and slanderous terms like “racist and bigot” are an ugly and hate-filled strategy being used by many radicals like him currently seated in the US Congress.

Dan Fanelli will not stand by quietly while Alan Grayson continues to embarrass our Congressional District, and tries to damage his name, insult his family, rip-off people of America for donations, and divide our country with racist lies! The notable achievements and service to country and community by Dan Fanelli speak for who he is, and speak loudly. Last week, President Obama made the following comment regarding the proposed mosque at Ground Zero:

“As President, I believe that Muslims have the same right to practice their religion as everyone else in this country...and that includes the right to build a place of worship and a community center on private property in Lower Manhattan.”

As a student of history, and as someone who has stared down our Radical Islamic enemies in Iraq and Afghanistan, I know full well the enemy we currently face and the challenges we are up against. The Constitution allows for freedom of religion; however, this proposed mosque goes beyond the First Amendment. I'm not saying a mosque cannot be built in the United States, or even in New York City. But considering the myriad of external influences that are behind the funding of this so-called Islamic cultural center and mosque (including a tax-payer-funded trip for Imam Abdul Rauf to fly abroad as an “emissary” of the U.S. to raise funds for this project), as well as the fact that the location is sacred ground for millions of New Yorkers and Americans alike, this mosque should not be built.

The good people of Florida's 22nd Congressional District deserve to hear where their Congressman stands on this important issue. I have made my stance clear - I do not support the building of this mosque in its present location.

I am asking you to join with me in telling President Obama that the residents of this Congressional District oppose building the mosque at Ground Zero. Our message can be simple:

“The constituents of Florida's 22nd Congressional District want to register the strongest possible objection to the building of the proposed mosque near Ground Zero. While there is much Ron Klein and I disagree on, we both recognize the importance to South Floridians - and all Americans - that the hallowed ground in Lower Manhattan is not a place for anIslamic cultural center and mosque. Furthermore, we believe your enthusiastic endorsement of the building of the mosque symbolizes a clear victory in the eyes of those who brought down the twin towers, while further alienating our friends and allies at home and abroad. We offer this bi-partisan appeal on behalf of the good people of South Florida in order to convey the intensity and breadth of the opposition most Americans have to the building of this mosque.”

According to a CNN Opinion Research poll, 68% of Americans oppose the Ground Zero mosque. If you agree with most Americans, I ask you to join me in signing the above letter to the President, demanding he side with the American people - and all freedom-loving people, from South Florida to Jerusalem, who wish to preserve this piece of hallowed ground in Lower Manhattan.

Together, we can send a strong, bi-partisan message to the President that will echo the thoughts of millions of our fellow countrymen. I look forward to hearing back from you about this concerning issue as soon as possible.

You are so right! The more Alan Grayson opens his mouth the more ALL the voters in District 8 realize that Grayson does not represent them! I have met many registered Democrats who said they are not going to vote for Grayson again!

I have yet to see a poll done of the Republican candidates running in the District 8 Primary. Even though the GOP and Media are saying that Dan Webster is the “favorite” among the Republican candidates I know of no polls.

Interesting that Grayson started attacking Dan even before the Primary is over! Wonder what Grayson’s “internal polling” is telling him? I believe folks are realizing that Dan Fanelli is the best candidate to face Grayson in November.

There are folks out there who always want to “vote for a winner”, and when they give their Primary vote to Dan Fanelli they will be voting for the best “winner” in November!

Hubby and I did some sign waving for Dan Fanelli close to the hotel where we are staying here in Orlando. It was an interesting day! Lots of honks from cars going by!

We then went on to another District 8 candidate event and I put out some of my Allen West/Dan Fanelli fliers, asking Florida voters to consider supporting these two Veterans running for Congress. But right after we put out some fliers on cars, someone came along and took my fliers off the cars! Nice that I had my camera to catch it on film!

Dan Fanelli, 8th Congressional District Candidate, Demands Alan Grayson’s Resignation

ORLANDO - On August 17, 2010, Dan Fanelli, candidate for Congress in the 8th District of Florida, held a Press Conference outside downtown Orlando City Hall and demanded the resignation of Congressman Alan Grayson for ethics violations stated in the “House Ethics Manual.”
When a Congressman communicates with the public, there is a certain level of trust, truth, and integrity that the public expects. Grayson has violated that trust when he sent out a campaign fundraising email “money bomb” that went beyond the standard “negative” political ad.

As per the “House Ethics Manual”: “A Member...of the House shall conduct himself at all times in a manner that shall reflect creditably on the House.” [House Rule 23, clause 1] and “the ethical precepts set forth in this code represent continuing traditional standards of ethical conduct to be observed by members of the House at all times.”

Grayson’s email made false statements presented as fact of what Dan Fanelli said and about Fanelli’s core beliefs. Grayson’s statements were blatant and outright lies and not befitting that of a Congressman. Grayson’s negative comments are even more ridiculous because they come just weeks after candidate Dan Fanelli held the “Rally to End Racism” on the steps of Orlando City Hall in association with the National Association for the Advancement of Conservatives of All Colors (NAACPC). The event was supported by the Congress of Racial Equality (CORE) with a letter from CORE’s National Spokesman, Niger Innis, which was read at the event.

This past January, Dan Fanelli attended CORE’s 25th Anniversary Celebrating Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., where he met with the founder, the Honorable Roy Innis. Fanelli has a lifelong record of promoting racial equality going back to his days as a midshipman at the U.S. Naval Academy, which has continued throughout his life.

As a result of Alan Grayson’s verbal assault and continuing outrageous comments made against Dan Fanelli, Dan has filed a formal complaint with the Congressional “Committee of Standards of Official Conduct”. Fanelli cites three statements from the “House Ethics Manual” that Congressman Grayson has violated:
(excerpt 1) email subject line: “Subject: My Opponent is a Racist ... and Proud of It!”
(excerpt 2) “My opponent, Dan Fanelli, thinks that only brown people should have to pass through security at the airports. Because all terrorists are brown people.”
(excerpt 3) “What Fanelli and his Republican bigot friends are saying is that American citizenship comes in two versions: white and nonwhite.... Because they want to degrade and put down everyone who isn't just like them.”

Alan Grayson’s final plea in his fundraising email closed with the statement, “Defeat Dan Fanelli. Contribute $25 now”. This is again, an example of Alan Grayson’s deceitful pleas for money. Grayson’s statements are total fabrication and without merit.

Since former major league baseball pitcher, Roger Clemens, could face 30 years in prison if convicted for lying to a Congressional committee; then, shouldn't Alan Grayson, a Congressman and who should be held to a higher standard, face a similar penalty, if convicted of fabricating lies about a citizen?

Dan Fanelli awaits the determination from the Congressional “Committee of Standards of Official Conduct” for Congressman Grayson’s ethics violations. Fanelli is currently running to win the 8th Congressional District Republican Primary this August 24, the winner of which will face Alan Grayson in the General Election.

Really interesting that there are no polls to be seen in Florida District 8! Sure the media/GOP elite do not want the possible outcome of a poll showing their favorite, Dan Webster in a close race with another Dan named Dan Fanelli!

Wouldn't you think with this being Alan Grayson’s district presently that a little attention would be brought to the candidates running in the Republican Primary to face Grayson in November?
