Jack DeCoster, the owner of the company at the center of one of the largest egg recalls in history, is no stranger to controversy. He's been involved in legal cases that have forced him to settle with the federal government for hiring illegal immigrants, for tolerating sexual harassment at his company, and has faced a litany of animal cruelty charges. DeCoster has also paid millions of dollars in fines and settlements over the years stemming from complaints about the health violations at his farms. Critics may say he's a bad egg .
DeCoster, 75, is at the helm of the family-run egg farm Wright County Eggs based in Galt, Iowa. His farm, according to the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention, is responsible for providing salmonella-tainted eggs to 15 of the 25 restaurants where patrons have fallen ill.......

As for safety and health accusations, any operation that large deals with those on a regular basis.
Properly cooked, eggs should not be a problem! I don’t like runny whites, never have never will. Don’t like raw eggs either. Wonder why the cdc is not concentrating on the cooking process instead of recalling millions of eggs. Is it on the shell or in the eggs or were the restaurants themselves less than clean?
Food perfection may be difficult to achieve, but proper heat in cooking can save a lot of trouble. That said, raw stuff is another story.

He's a Christian so that automatically makes him a stand up guy in the eyes of people who point to his donations to the church rather than all the people he's poisioned.
Most don't poison thousands of people with their product.

Because a lot of people like their eggs prepared with the yellow or white runny. Also eggs cook at a temperature low enough that it might not kill all the bacteria.
We all know the animal rights wackos would bring trumped up charges. No one is to be trusted.
The only thing I saw in the article that he was responsible for was the hiring of illegal aliens. The rest of the charges could be because of poor managers that don’t supervise the workers and make them do unpleasant tasks like taking dead hens out of cages and keep the place clean.
Or just hard boil em and use them for egg salad sandwiches.
Salmonellas pretty far down on the “most lethal pathogen” list.

Yes he is. He has a long history here. It would take awhile to go back and gather all of the information about him; but it’s there.
He is not someone you would want as a neighbor.

Not only a heck of a lot of eggs, but an astronomical number of chickens that will be culled (destroyed, for those of you in Rio Linda).

This recall stinks of the hysteria of — H1N1 flu/ alar in apples/ Toyotas will kill you/ etc. Is it a non-union egg farm, perhaps? Or does the Obama regime have some ulterior, nefarious plan?
I do not buy it. There has been one woman here in Los Angeles repeatedly featured on radio ads —she got sick. AND?? They say, “It is just to be safe. There have really not been problems, but there sure could be.”
I just think it STINKS of Obama Crookery.
Perhaps he is hiring illegals rather than SEIU union dead-chicken picker-uppers, and that has the unions up in arms.

Seems to me if it is bacterial it would be less than 8 hours.
If you go to bed after eating something at dinner that is going to make you sick, do you wake up about midnight or one in the morning knowing it is time to run to the porcelain facility and hoping beyond hope that it isn’t both ends at once. Sorry for the graphics.
