Try darts and an open page in the encyclopedia, which is about as good as Google or Bing.

I like WebFerret - webferret.com. It’s free.

dogpile.com. They helped a military soldier bring back two pups from Afghanistan
http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,489739,00.html
A U.S. soldier returning to Fayetteville, N.C., from Afghanistan got a surprise welcome from two dogs he saved from starvation while stationed in the war-torn country.
WRAL.com, a FOX affiliate in Raleigh, reports that a charity animal-rescue program run by Internet search engine Dogpile.com reunited Staff Sgt. Daniel Barker with two dogs reportedly rescued by Barker and his fellow soldier, Adam Krause, during their 2008 deployment to Afghanistan.

Check out Cuil. It was started by the original Google people. It doesn’t store cookies, so you can search without being spied on.
To: Excuse_My_Bellicosity
Not a surprise - Bing is owned and operated by Microsoft...

STARTPAGE.COM
Recommended by privacy experts, as it does not record your IP.
I never ever use Google, or any other search.

At least you are only sick and not ‘sick and tired’. If this is your biggest problem then you have it made.

I don’t care for Google or Bing, either. If Yahoo doesn’t have it, I’ll use Metacrawler.

I have been using LYCOS for 15+ years and am ALWAYS satisfied with the results. I like Yahoo for maps and driving directions, but other than that, I ALWAYS go to LYCOS. FWIW.

I use Copernic....it is not based in the US so you can get a more broad base of information. I don’t trust Google since I believe they are Progressives.

ixquick = startpage
ixquick.com
or
startpage.com
They are the same thing, same company. It used to be Ixquick, and they changed name to increase market share, to startpage. Now they keep both.

Yep, I agree. Dogpile. Used them many years ago, and came back to them as primary search engine when Altavista became a Yahoo preserve.
I rarely use Google.

I've tried a lot of other search engines but unfortunately to find what I need I usually end up coming back to Google. Bing's just not there yet. Everything else is not even close. Too bad, because I really hate Google.
