Good evening!
Fox News reports, Bret Baier specifically, that 0's popularity in Martha's Vineyard has plummeted this summer over last. The measurement: sales of 0-themed t-shirts are way down! AND get this: "Miss Me Yet" Bush shirts are hot!
...Per Fox News...I am NOT making this up!
And WHO was Martha, anyway? Are there still vineyards on the island??
Other shocking news, commentary and opinion may be posted and discussed.
Here we go!
November cannot come soon enough......
True, but we have lots of work to do between now and then...I have a feeling the time will zoom by, but alas, filled with a great deal of the anxiety we're used to seeing lately.
Gingerbread cottages. Carly Simon. Jaws. Martha's Vineyard is well known as a peaceful, elegant island just off the coast of Cape Cod, Massachusetts. Martin Luther King, Jr spent time in the rosy pink Overton House, plumb in the center of the gingerbread cottage area. The freshly planted grapes - viognier, chenin blanc, shiraz and more - that draws visitors into the quiet interior of this island. And yes Miss Me Yet t-shirts are Hot in the NE worn by visitors from all over the country.
Screw Amnesty is the new hat promoted by WRKO's talk show host, Howie Carr.
Thank you for getting us started for the week.
Thanks for the links. That history is interesting and I really enjoyed the tidbits about the tee shirts and cap. I love it that the “Miss Me Yet?” shirt outsold the “I vacationed at M.V. w/[Caligula]” shirt. HA!

The two-party system is just two sides of the same coin--both parties are the same--Mr FLIM or Mr Flam--which is the lesser of evils!
I’ve read the citizens of Martha’s Vineyard were NOT thrilled and a bit concerned the muslim chose to vacation there. His 6th vacation, this year, by the way.
Good Morning Molly, thanks for the new thread.
Stunning stuff here:

Isn’t this kahn woman the wife of the imum travelling the mid east on our tax dollars?
I wonder how long the truck will last?
I grow weary of the constant reference to Obama “inheriting” a recession — If it wasn’t for the financial crisis - he wouldn’t be in office. Remember- he said he could fix it?

Good morning!
Very nice.
It's been raining for two days. The temps are much cooler, too.
We had threats of rain yesterday, but it didn’t happen. Our temps have gone back up. It is too hot to move outside except in the early morning and late, late afternoon.
A week or two ago, I saw our hawk swoop down on something in the backyard. LD was hoping it wasn’t our rabbit (as if we only have one!).
I just now saw that we still have rabbits. :(
Good morning everyone.
0: Tee-ing off nation, 1 Sunday at a time
GOP in default mode Uh oh...
I think when the dems took over congress 2 years before the presidential all heck broke loose. Dodd and Frank/Pelosi/Ried/obama and the majority democrat party began pushing through bills which which began this financial crisis.
I’m hungry and that make me hungier.
I wish we’d get some rain. Our grass crackles when we walk on it, the ground has 2 inch cracks in it. The birds aren’t even singing, it’s too hot. Yesterday was 105 degrees. Beanie spends 99 percent of her time indoors. These have truly been the dog days of August. I’m waiting for September and hopefully rain.

So we’re bigots, huh? Fine with me. She’s a part of the radical Islam that murdered innocent people are we bigots because we’re onto her and husband’s reasons for wanting to build their vicotry msoque. I mean, just exactly where do all the peace loving Muslims live in that immediate meighborhood who want to pray to Allah 5 times a day at that particular mosque? It’s a victory shrine, and we know it and now they know we know we know it, so of course we’re bigots. We can’t be American patriots, who will never forget, and who care about our dead and fallen and their grieving families, because that would be too uncool in this day of PC roll-over, shut-up and lie down for all things American and patriotic.
LOL. I think the truck has lasted for a while. Note the “Country First” sticker. That’s from the McCain/Palin campaing of ‘08...lol. I trust that he’s fully insured.
Thank you lysie, Jem, and The Raven!
Morning. Just got back from my shopping day. Went later than normal today due to a few snags getting out the door this morning. Hope everyone’s week is off to a good start.
You are welcome.
It’s being reported that 4.21 inches of rain fell on Sunday.
For some reason when I went shopping it appeared to be more crowded than usual. I’m wondering if yesterday’s rain had anything to do with it.
Cats...SIL got mad at d and gd’s cats. threw them out into the yard. So, here come d and gd hauling two cats so now I have three. D found the one I have at a grocery store abandoned. Three cats in my ‘shack in the back’ now, the youngest just can not get along with with my free found cat. These two I got yesterday are Katrina cats, she found them half dead and yep, she sure did now I have the three..
Oh the woes of a pawpaw.....

Blair book is 'love letter to Bush'
The former Labour Prime Minister will shock his party and infuriate anti-war protesters by lavishing praise on his "highly intelligent" and "visionary" friend."It is the biggest and most unapologetic defence of Bush and his ideas ever written," said one aide last night.
In book stores September 2, 2010, just in time for 9/11 anniversary, and before November elections...LOL. Democrats are planning to blame Bush for everything. Well have at it. I hope Tony's book is a best seller.
Lame stream media will not write GWB's legacy.
Such a pretty site, in Ms we don’t have anything like shown.
You a reader too??? I love it. Got my civil war books, WW2 books and religious books, guess you can say I am a book worm. My problem is when I start a book I don’t want to put it down until I finish with it. My favorite? ANDERSONVILLE, civil war book, you just can’t put it down, and this book came fram a truly wonderful Free Republic wonderful friend.
I have just got to say it, Alan Combs, Fox and Friends, I just don’t like this liberal jerk....
Toby
I have got to get to WalMart soon, nearly out of grits...being out of grits is like breathing without air.
Toby
Yippee! I was the first one to place that on hold at the Onondaga County Library. It’s being shipped to my local library.
Hi Toby. I may treat myself to a bowl of grits soon...real soon.
IIRC, that is a spot in Scotland.
How are you today? Is that shack cleaned up yet?
With 3 cats. he’s going to have to clean EVERY DAY.
Yes, like you, I read from start to finish, but I’ve taken to ordering “books on tape” (CD) along with the book for Doc to read. I like the author reading to me when it’s quiet at night. My eyes get tired. After the lens implants I had two years ago, when my cataracts were removed, my eyesight came back to 20/20 without glasses, but I lost my nearsightedness and I have enjoyed reading ever since.
I’ve always despised Alan Homely. We mute him, right along with Bob Beckel and Obama.
Fantastic, lysie!! If nothing else, praise for GWB was enough for me to order the book, but I’ll wager PM Blair wrote an very interesting book that we’ll enjoy from cover to cover.
Not yet, GD gets out of school at 3:30, she pleaded with me to take the cats (which I can’t find one of them in my shack, now that is bad). will see then if she stands on her side of the bargin....
Toby
Humf, I am finding out fast...
With my project of collecting books for prisons, I get plenty, can only take soft cover books to them so, all the hard covered books I read before trading them aroung for more soft covers...
Toby
You’re a GOOD man, Toby! God bless you.
Ahhh, you make me blush....I enjoy doing this, keeps me with something to do and I pray they will do some good to the truly lost in the jails and prisons......
One more comment.. STILL can not find that fool cat in my shack....
Toby
I read that book! Is that by McKinlay Kantor? That book is just heartbreaking.
It is, a wonderful read...
