Jeff Garcia signed with the Omaha Nighthawks of the United Football League on Wednesday, a month after former Raiders quarterback JaMarcus Russell's name briefly appeared on the Nighthawks roster.
Garcia, 40, played five seasons for the 49ers and was with the Raiders last preseason before being cut. The four-time Pro Bowl selection signed with Philadelphia and played in one game before the Eagles released him in September.

I’ve always suspected Jeff Garcia of gayness. Not that I have a problem with it. I had more of a problem with his inability to throw the ball over 15 years. But after Alex Smith I am more forgiving.
Garcia was no Steve Young, but he was a decent quarterback. The last season he was a starter, he was replacing Donovan McNabb, and he played well and got the Eagles to the playoffs.
I expect Christian Ponder, currently at FSU, to be a big time NFL QB in the coming years.
Remember when the Raiders signed Garcia but didn’t give him a legit shot to start over Jemarcus Russell?
Yes, and I thought they should of. He would have been perfect for them. They didn’t stay with Russell anyway.

I agree. He works very hard and is smart as a whip(already has his Masters).
Garcia is a great, solid QB. He reminds me of a lot like Dave Kreig.
