The democrats in congress are having their hat handed to them, and don't see it yet.
To do this he has to get through the 2012 election, which at this time is unlikely. Unless, he moves to the center (i.e. Clinton).
He just can't move to this position on his own, he has to have a reason. Such as a conservative congress.
His recent actions, policies etc., will elicit such a negative response from the public that they elect the very conservatives that Obama needs to justify his move right, and hopefully get re-elected.
Not a bad idea if you only care about yourself. He'll throw anybody overboard to accomplish his goal.

Well, I started traveling in late 1999, but moved to Slovakia in Jan 2005.
I had a very nice life there, but moved on to the Philippines in Jan.2009.
I now live on my small social security, but my neighbors think I am quite wealthy, living with a girlfriend in a nice cottage at a beach.
If I were back in the USA, I would be living like a bumb.
Leaving was the best decision of my life.

I am much safer here then I would be in any American city.
There are many Americans and Europeans all over the Philippines.
My social security comes by direct deposit to my Philippine bank account like clockwork, on the 4th of every month.
