This is like watching THE WIRE, HBO’s series that featured Baltimore. It’s a great example of Liberalism inability to govern a city, educate children, enforce laws, or improve the lives of the citizens. Truly, this is the problem with the Democrats.

I just moved out of this neighborhood two days ago. The 'gang initiation' element and the recent attacks against Hispanics in SE Baltimore are a new phenomenon, at least in that particular area. The neighborhood is a mix of Greek, Eastern European and Hispanic immigrants and young/working class whites - all of which get along 98% of the time. There are, relatively, very few murders in this part of the city. This seems like a premeditated decision by gangs from Western Baltimore (the destroyed part of the city) and blacks living on the East side to prove their 'cred' by targeting non-blacks in other neighborhoods.
The problem with Baltimore's gun laws is that in a scenario like this, a gun owner would've likely been charged with a crime for defending themselves as the attack occurred outside and was not a home invasion. It is next to impossible to get a carry permit within city limits, let alone in other parts of the state. Criminals know this, and know you are an easy target when you're outside walking around.

Problem with ALL gun laws. Most northeast and middle atlantic governments consider self defense to be a more serious crime than assault or murder. After all if you can defend yourself against unorganized criminals what do you need the government's organized criminals for. (Any entity that takes by force the fruits of your labors is by definition a criminal enterprise)
