Instead of going back and forth on the Florida forum, I opened up this thread.

Thanks. Just thought I’d open up a thread for discussion. Seems like a issue that needs debate and not on our Fl. Forum.
On August 5, 1864, Farragut won a great victory in the Battle of Mobile Bay. Mobile was then the Confederacy’s last major port open on the Gulf of Mexico. The bay was heavily mined (tethered naval mines were known as torpedoes at the time). Farragut ordered his fleet to charge the bay. When the monitor USS Tecumseh struck a mine and sank, the others began to pull back.
Farragut could see the ships pulling back from his high perch, lashed to the rigging of his flagship, the USS Hartford. “What’s the trouble?” was shouted through a trumpet from the flagship to the USS Brooklyn. “Torpedoes!” was shouted back in reply. “Damn the torpedoes!” said Farragut, “Four bells. Captain Drayton, go ahead! Jouett, full speed!” The bulk of the fleet succeeded in entering the bay. Farragut then triumphed over the opposition of heavy batteries in Fort Morgan and Fort Gaines to defeat the squadron of Admiral Franklin Buchanan
No matter who won any of the Republican Primaries, the Dems were going “Full Monty” on the dirty tricks, lies and naked voter nullification. What more needs to be said than to Damn the torpedoes and win this thing united.
Thanks Admiral!
Dan Webster won the GOP primary and is running against looney tune Grayson.
My husband & I have a real problem with voting for Scott in Nov. I don’t like the idea of voting for someone who as a CEO didn’t know or didn’t care what his company was doing wrong. I sure don’t want the Dem. to win but I have problems voting for Scott.
I have the same feeling. He just seems so scummy to me that I don’t trust him.
On the one hand he may just be tough and bad as the Dems with ‘street rules”, on the other hand, he may be the sneakiest Rhino we ever saw!
anyone know how Neal Boortz was so crazy for Scott???
Find the Red State article outlining how Scott’s issues started because he stood up against Hillarycare. There are comments out there too, from McCollum at that time frame, defending Scott against the onerous medicare rules and how NO ONE could be charged with fraud if they have to depend on making sense of 2900 pages of BS.
If Rick Scott had known how the billing was going he would have been indicted. I have worked in medical for 35 years. In the early 80s, our state Medicare office basically told us to cheat. When CT spines started we gave every single one a diagnosis of an extremely rare disease that I don’t think anyone with the test every truly had.
Scott wanted to fight the charges. Guaranteed if he had mandated any of those policies he would be in jail. He was never indicted.
I voted Scott in the primary with no regrets. McCollum is acting like a baby, I am glad he lost.
He stood up against hitlerycare and stood firm against 0bamacare with CFPR. Of course the LSM is going to sick the dogs on him.
I’ve got to be honest about how I feel on this one. I’ve been a freeper long enough and I think I’m allowed to have the opportunity to voice MY opinion. I’m very principled as a conservative, but Scott gives me the eebie-jeebies. I actually laughed when I saw Sink’s commercial with the two mock republicans in the background fighting each other.
As I said on the Fl forum, Fl isn’t in bad shape(much of the problems have been pushed on counties and cities), but I don’t think Scott can operate an honest office and may be in jail halfway through his term if elected.
McCollum can now go full force against Scott because McCollum didn’t want to put his opponent in jail during a race. Now, its game on and Scott I’m afraid is going to be on the losing end with Sink being the sane one for moderates and libs.
“I voted Scott in the primary with no regrets”
Please help me feel the same as you. I need some comfort here.
Right, because McCollum, as a close and personal friend of Grier, and as an AG had no inkling of Grier’s dealings.
Here’s comfort for you: IMAGINE LOSING FLORIDA TO A DEMOCRAT .............
thank you for your thoughtful and reasoned reply...
I had the same reaction you did.
You have checked this out very much, so had the other freeper that replied to me.
I have been in the medical field and it is hard for me to imagine how even the CEO would not “know” how the billing was done, he must have done a lot to get all those fraud charges on his company and , no, not everyone does this in the medical field.
So...is this the best we can do....Crist, Scott, Mccollum ( though i kinda liked him)?
“Here?s comfort for you: IMAGINE LOSING FLORIDA TO A DEMOCRAT ............. “
I don’t like that thought at all. But..........
That’s why I posted the thread. Open discussion to see positive and negatives. No, I don’t think CEO’s of major corps are hands on. They see numbers, bar graphs, reports, profit margins, etc.. Maybe he didn’t see what’s going on.
I was in a local hospital 3 weeks ago and got charged(insurance got charged) $9,000 for one bag of saline, a CT, and a ua. I was dehydrated. does the CEO know about this? I doubt it. I just don’t want Fl, ruined and embarassed by a crooked, rich politican that bought an election.
Here. I’ll post this from someone “in the know”. Not me.
“I know Republicans that voted for Slick Rick just to get rid of McCollum because they will vote for Alex in the general. The legislature will again try to pass a bill this year to change FRS and the health subsidy. Crist vetoed it this year but McCollum and Rick will let it pass.”
Newsflash: don’t put McCollum on a pedestal, again, remember, he was a very close friend of Grier and there are still some unanswered questions about that relationshipt. It’s over, Scott won the primary. Here’s a kicker: I voted for McCollum but right now I am only interested into getting Scott to Tallahassee. Fink is not even an alternative, not even in a nightmare...
I thought Rick Scott was a bit too much of a power-monger. It seemed like his plan to grow Florida’s economy was far too much of a power grab from the counties/cities up to the state government.
And I really didn’t care for that one bit. I think the best way to attract business is to set a welcoming table for them to come to and then advertise the heck outta that. And with that, business (and thus jobs... and taxes) will come.
That said, he’s going to be a far sight better than his Democrat Party opponent.
“But go ahead, go vote for Fink or stay home because, afterall, it’s the way to deal with this, right?”
I won’t vote for Alex. But I have a good feeling she’s in the same circle of friends as Toni Jennings. I will vote for Scott but holding my nose doing so.
I’m sure glad I didn’t vote for ‘that dork’ (as my grandson called McCollum). This goes beyond being a sore loser:
“Brushing aside political etiquette, Republican Bill McCollum says he has not ruled out endorsing either the Democrat or Independent running for governor.”
DOES REDISTRICTING RING A BELL? WANT SINK TO DO IT? WANT FL TO TURN BLUE? VOTE FOR SINK FOOL.
Not voting for Sink. I’d rather vote for the guy in NY. Rent is too damn high party. LOL
LOL!
