STATESVILLE, NC (WBTV) - A man who was with about a dozen people who were looking for a legendary "ghost train" in Iredell County was hit by a locomotive and killed early Friday morning.
The incident happened on a train trestle at 2:45 a.m. near the 900 block of Buffalo Shoals Road.
Robin Chapman, a spokesperson for Norfolk-Southern Railroad, said the eastbound train consisted of three locomotives and no freight cars.
The train was rounding a curve and approaching a trestle over Boston Creek just prior to Buffalo Shoals Road when it struck a man on the trestle, Chapman said.

I lived in NC a long time. That state ghost story is very well-known (and a little spooky).

My first reaction was;
‘How is a guy who can’t hear a REAL train comin’ round the bend going to find a ghost one?’

I lived in NC a long time. That state ghost story is very well-known (and a little spooky). Are there any stories of haunted electrical outlets? How about haunted guns?
How many lives must these haunted things take before we call the Ghostbusters?

Sort of like that “Ghost Hunters” TV show where some idiots sit around in the dark in some old building until they get scared and run around like the Three Stooges. Funny the first time, but ridiculous after that.

Well the place might be haunted now.
Ghost Hunters isn’t the show where they get scared and run around like the three stooges LOL, its the show on the travel channel where they do that. On GH they get to see all the spooks but the viewer never gets to see them.
To: The Comedian
Will his ghost get hit by the ghost train?
To: Hot Tabasco
Most of those so-called ghost hunter shows are garbage.
I belive the old show "Amazing Stories" had an episode about a ghost train...it was produced(?)by Speilberg...actually was pretty good.
To: Hot Tabasco
I was hoping it was the entire crew of Ghost Hunters from the Syfy channel........I hate that phony show "Did you see THAT?!?" (no)
"Something just moved down there!" (no it didn't)
"A hand just touched my head!" (no it didn't)
"Do you hear THAT?!?" (no)
