What a Country!

What a country we live in!

You can get 119 weeks of unemployment payments, and not even try to find work.

You can get free health care. You don't have to be working to be covered til you're at least 26.

You can have your mortgage forgiven or reduced.

You can get your college loan reduced or forgiven.

If you are an illegal immigrant, you can get free education, health care, food, housing.

You can get married if you are gay.

You can get illegal drugs with a paper prescription.

You can get free electric carts with a paper prescription.

You can have $1000s in credit card charges forgiven.

You can get your home weatherized for free.

You can get cash to buy a home.

If you work for the government, you can get pensions worth 5 - 10 times what you made during your working years.

You can sue all kinds of companies and collect rewards, without risk, even if you are at fault.

You can help make sure the rich guys get what's coming to them.

You can shut down development for a bird, or a fish, or a small plant.

And there's not even any stigma to this. Much of the public doesn't look at you as lazy, or evil, or taking advantage of the situation.

Then why are the liberals still not happy?

Where does the “119 weeks of unemployment” come from?

It’s at 99 weeks, but there are proposals in Congress to extend another 20 weeks. Could happen in September.

The Democrats are desperate about what will happen when the unemployment benefits run out while the employment picture looks bleak. If these benefits doen’t get extended through November, the Dems are toast. But they are already cooked.

Obama touted something in the health care bill on student loans that would extend your payment schedule if you are unemployed. And if you go to work for the government, the loan payments could be waived.

I don’t know if it was in the final version that was passed, which gave the federal government total authorization over the student loans program. But the government can do anything they want on student loans, perhaps even tell you where you have to work to get the best repayment plan.
