Over at the best website known to man, Dlisted.com, is a story of Sophie Thomas, a 97-year old woman from Michigan and her cat Tiger.
Sophie was weeding her flower beds, minding her own business and probably aching from arthritis, when along came a gang of vicious pitbulls. The pitbulls, who belonged to her neighbor directly behind her home, surrounded Sophie, scaring the little old lady half to death, one lunged at her and she hit it on the head. That one back off, but others came in closer.
Sophie said she was pretty sure it was the end of her, until her little calico kitty Tiger jumped in front of her, grabbing the snarling, frothing, menacing pitbull gang's attention. Tiger then ran off, with the pitbulls chasing after her, which gave Sophie just enough time to escape inside her home. As she cleaned her bite wounds, she was fraught with concern for her precious savior Tiger. Miraculously, Tiger showed up on her door step a short time later, and they were joyously reunited.
As you might well imagine, the pitbulls' owner is a sophisticated young lady with colorful body art and a million excuses why her murderous dogs got out. Which begs the question? Does anyone who doesn't live in the ghetto or a trailer own a pitbull? Don't hate on me if you own one of these dogs and the above doesn't apply to you, save your hate for all the a**holes out there who give your breed of dog such a bad reputation.

Those dogs wouldn’t get a second chance if they did that around my house.
I nominate Tiger as leader of the Viking Kitty’s!
Can you prove that it was a 100% genetically pure pit bull?
/sarcasm
Amen! I second the nomination!
Only a black person or a person that lives in a manufactured home. This idiot needs to get out more.

"I'm your new dog walker,ya gotta a problem wit dat?
whoops.......sorry
My neighborhood is now pit bull free.
Took me some time and a few neighbors moved away but now my children can safely play outside.
Every time I see a pit bull thread I get this feeling its started by someone from either the KOS or DU, they know here at FR there is a pro and against group against pit bulls.
I state my position openly, I am against pit bulls. The only way I would have one would be if it was stuffed and hanging on my wall with glass eyes.
I too have had bad dealings with the neighbors pit bulls. I will shoot them whenever they step on my farm. The last time they were here, my dog killed one and the other left with out a hind leg, likely as not died as well..
With all the bad hype Pit Bulls get - let's be honest. They are dogs. Generally, dogs do help us save lives, even if it means giving up their own. Lassie was a Collie, but cold have been a Poodle, Pomeranian or even a Pit Bull.
This Pit Bull prevented a rape in Dover, Delaware on September 28. James B. Benson, 30, broke into a home of an 18 year old victim as she slept....Well, it turned out she wasn't actually a victim of as much as might have happened. He broke in, got away with no items, and his attempts to rape her were prevented by her Pit Bull. As he physically began to accost her, she began to cry. That's when her dog stepped in, and Benson ran off. He was later apprehended, and charged with attempted first degree rape, and four other offenses. The victim told police that Benson worked at the family business up until two weeks ago. The victim credited her dog with perhaps saving her life. Benson was being held in Vaughn Correctional Center near Smyrna on $51,500 bail.

I reccommend #4 buckshot for pitbulls.Or anything in .45 auto.
What kind of dog do you have. If a mix, then just a general description.
What sort of dog do you have ?? Seems like a solution to the problem.
My neighbor’s pit bulls attacked two neighborhood dogs. I always carry my 9mm pocket gun. Got wifey some pepper spray, as she is likely to shoot our dog in a fight. Under pressure, neighbor got rid of all but 2. If I see them out, shoot and shovel, as I always say.
His answer after attack on one dog, I’ll keep mine in if you keep yours in (gentle black lab, 13 years old).
Agreed, not all pit bulls are vicious. But I can’t tell the difference, so keep your damn dog under control.
I live in the country, no leash laws, so most people let their dogs run loose.

Good kitty!
Are you sure your dogs are cougars in disguise. Farm dogs are nothing to monkey around with....chuckles to your post.
Viking Kitty ping
One of two of a relative’s cats was attacked by a doberman. The dobie had one cat in it’s mouth. The other cat leaped on top of the dog biting it’s neck and digging it it’s claws. The dobie dropped the first cat and ran off howling.
The owner had the audacity to show up and demanded vet bill payment for the stitches.
pitbull is as pitbull does... they may be “domesticated” in front of their owner, but put them together in a group and they turn into murderous monsters... who ever heard of a pack of puggies, basset hounds or cocker spaniels surrounding and mauling a person.
Is that a zombie dog?
It does appear to me that a rather broad brush is being used by the author of the article cited in the OP, but opinions are just that, opinions, and all are entitled to theirs. That being said, should our pit ever display threatening behavior towards us, she will cease to walk this earth immediately.
Nope, it’s a killer shrew.
I carry pepper spray when I walk my dog, a poodle, too. Not because I am afraid of the people, it’s because of the other dogs.
He must now demonstrate the ability to run up a wall, across the ceiling and down the opposite wall and to hide in a vacant 10 foot by 10 foot room. After that he needs to complete the grueling AES (Atmospheric Electricty School.)
Only then may he wear (with justified pride) the uniform of a Viking Kitty.
It also begs the question; is it the breed (no such thing as a pit bull) or the owner? Looks like this story contradicts the usual pit bull propaganda.

pitbull gets pussy whipped
My mother’s 7 pound Siamese once got cornered on our porch by a large Doberman. We thought it was going to be all over for the cat. We were surprised when the cat killed the dog.
I have a 202lb Great Pyreneese called “Bonehead.” very large for his breed. We have a 484 acre farm with aprox 130 sheep. Our female Pyr.named, “Mrs.Bonehead.” first saw the two Pit Bulls came through the fence looking for trouble and sheep were their target. When They first met Mrs. B. who put up a so-so fight, and got tore up some, Until Bonehead came running from the back field. He is a very loving, mild mannered, loving dog for his size, fast but very protective, not one to mess with. Within what seemed seconds the battle was over, one pit Bull lay dead, and he literally tore most of the others back left leg off. I was on a tractor at the time and saw it all. Bonehead has also killed 2 Coyotes and 3 fox this year.
“I am against pit bulls.”
We, sir, are in violent agreement!
I had a run-in with one of the monsters. I was in high school at the time, and had just gotten off the bus. I didn’t make it far. The neighbor’s beast had gotten off it’s chain (no back fence) and made a beeline right for me.
I was carrying a large bookbag, so I held the bag down in front of my legs. I have never seen a creature so intent on a purpose in my life! It circled me quickly — I’m not joking — staring at my legs the entire time. It didn’t look up at me or size me up. It was totally focused on my legs. I just kept turning around and around with the bag in front so the beast couldn’t get a clear shot at my calves.
The bus driver, brave guy, just sat there watching this going on with the kids. I was on my own. There was no way I could make it to the house.
Finally the owner of the dog ran up and the dog broke off the offensive. I ran for the house and got away.
I’ll never forget that dog’s total determination to get at my legs, to get me on the ground... presumably where it could finish the job.
Those things are scary beyond belief.
Come on. Were it not polite company I’d have to call that one.
“I have a 202lb Great Pyreneese called Bonehead.”
Wow. What do you feed it with... A side of cow a day?
I’ll pay for the training, how much cat nip will it cost me? I really think this feline has potential.
Well, my hat is off to that cat if the story is true. My cats would run and hide if some dog besides theirs started yapping and snarling and biting people. My neighbor has pits, they seem to be well behaved, I’m not that worried about them because they are titty babies from what I’ve seen. Most Animal Control guys will tell you to watch out for the chihuahuas, they WILL bite.
But, I concur with a previous poster, Ve have vays to deal vith dangerous animals around my house. I probably wouldn’t pull out a pistol, I’m thinking 00 buck is gonna do a fine job of stopping any dog that attacks me or mine, on my property. And the scatter gun will probably not kill or injure a neighbor/bystander from over penetration.
I think he has potential, too. It takes more than sharp claws and lots of attitude to make a Viking Kitty, but I think he has the stuff to finish the test and to make it through AES without swimming to the center of The Pond, ringing the bell and going home. Not for me to say, he has to do it himself.
By the way, I would go easy on offering to pay for the catnip. You wouldn’t believe how much all the Viking Kitties not on duty go through on graduation day. Life is too short for cheap ‘nip.
My younger dog, who weighs 85 lb., is either half black lab and half pit or black lab and half Great Dane. There’s a dispute between a cousin of mine who’s a vet, who says he’s half GD, and some people at my vet’s office, who say he’s half pit.
Be that as it may, I also have an 8 lb. cat who does not take well to having a dog ten times her size poke her with his nose. Before “the incident” he was notably anxious to do it. Then, one fine day, I came home and noticed he had a 3/4” long by 1/8” deep laceration on his nose. Ever since, he’s been far more circumspect in dealing with the Princess of Pain.
What happened? Did the cat get caught in the Dobes' throat? ............................ (Sorry, couldn't help myself) ... FRegards
Awwww, c’mon. Much as I love and respect cats (and know Siamese are sometimes vicious hellkitties) — the cat killed the dog?? Details! How?!
When the doberman tried to grab the cat, the cat jumped straight up and out of the way, grabbed the back to the head, then gouged gouged out both eyes with her hind claws. She then hung on and went for the jugular on the then blind dog. You can’t believe how much blood was on our porch. And, by the way, the owner sued my mom and wanted the cat put down. The judge ruled that the cat was defending itself and that the leash laws in the county only applied to dogs and the dog would not have been killed if it had been on a leash or in its own fenced in yard.
Wow. Holy cats. And I thought our old half-Siamese was a bad-@ss!
Great Pyrenees are great protectors of flocks. Had an aquatint's that had one for his angora goats. It left his property once and got shot in the leg...when we took our mohair to his station, the dog was in a leg splint. He made it back home but gave the owners a big vet bill..
