Steven Slater, Fed-Up JetBlue Flight Attendant, Looks For A Deal In CourtAgainst Criminal Charges

"We're looking for as favorable a disposition for Mr. Slater as we can," defense attorney Daniel Horowitz said.

But Mantell also insisted that Slater could have killed somebody when he capped his spectacular snit by deploying the emergency chute while the plane was on the ground at Kennedy Airport.

"We continue to focus on the seriousness of the acts of the defendant," Mantell said.

Slater is charged with trespassing, reckless endangerment and criminal mischief and faces up to seven years in prison if convicted. He is due back in court on Oct. 19.

Pony up JetBlue's costs for replacing the emergency chute and for lost revenue while the jet was out of service, and of course the deposit on the two beers, and he should be able to avoid jail time.

Of course, he's still in hot water with TSA for his stroll across the tarmac, and his ability to gain access to the terminal and actually go home without being challenged by TSA.
