Just downloaded some updates for my Linux Mint system and the prior way of handing new bookmarks does not seem to function.
Any one know if a new function was added?
Version is 3.6.8

I wonder if the new Firefox accounts for the new annoying Google features. I hate new things. Why won’t they just leave well enough alone?

Well, I don’t know what your “prior way” was. Mine is to drag the small icon by the URL window down on the bookmark toolbar and let it go where I want it to be.
That way still works for me v3.6.9 in MSWindowsXPpro

Hmm...
My little panel ( clicked on help ) still says 3.6.8
This came via the normal update service of Mint and I assume Ubuntu....

I’m using the same version for Mint 9, and it is working just fine.
What is it doing to not allow you to save? Can you pull down the bookmark menu?
Does it allow you to bookmark but doesn’t actually save it?
To: Ernest_at_the_Beach
How about the “release notes” in help?

The panel that allows you to select the folder you want to save it in never shows up and the bookmark is just thrown away...never shows up in the bookmark list at all....
Looking thru the Mint Forum for anything but so far have found nothing there.
To: Ernest_at_the_Beach
I wouldn’t know about that. My problem with Firefox was when I used it my computer froze about every 30 minutes. I don’t use it any more.

I use Zotero to bookmark.
It only works with Firefox.
http://www.zotero.org/ to download it.
You can add notes to your bookmarks -
It’s a great bookmark organizer.
But I have been having problems with Firefox just freezing up lately. Just got the latest revision 3.6.9. Hope that fixes the bugs.

Hello, Firefox was updated yesterday from 3.6.8 to 3.6.9.
I reckon the Linux Mint team created this package specially for Mint Debian and I'm also guessing they must be quite busy with all that's going on but I'm leaving here this reminder just in case.
Thank you all.
To: Ernest_at_the_Beach
FF is now up to 3.6.9.
Mine works fine.

Well technically this was an update...the panel says I am still at 3.6.8.

Thread hijack. On my Firefox, Gmail features don’t work. No links, chat, etc., and I can’t right click and copy/paste. I’ve searched, and can’t find a fix.

This is looking to me like a Firefox problem,...so if so will appear on Linux and Windows systems.
Not confirmed of course.
To: Ernest_at_the_Beach
Sorry I can't help you with this one. FireFox did update the browser on my Window7 system I believe it was yesterday, and these features work ok. Perhaps it is a problem with the Linux version(s). Perhaps you can resort to the last workable release, in hopes that soon any problem will be rectified.
Please don't feel obligated to respond. Your time must be spent fixing your system.

Couldn't find anything on the Forums a and figured out how to look thru the update log...and I see that 3.9 is going into the system....and a note saying that Firefox needs to be restarted or you will have problems...so I did and the the help banner says I have 3.9 installed and so far things seem to be normal....
Sure wasn't obvious that Firefox was getting updated to 3.6.9....
No message to restart Firefox either....would have been nice ....
To: donozark; mountainbunny
That was the update....sure enough...

Got to check my other system.
To: Ernest_at_the_Beach
it seems to be fine for me Ernest.. I just bookmarked something about an hour ago & it is there, as are my others.

I restarted Firefox and I seem to be Fine on both systems now...
And I do have 3.6.9 now.
I have been in the habit of doing update as soon as they are available and continuing with what ever I was doing without checking much of anything.
Need to watch more closely...but the restarte message was just buried in the log and not very obvious.
To: Marine_Uncle
Problem solved...Restart required....
With Mint update the log file window is not resizable..so tough for me to read it...can't copy it either .
To: Ernest_at_the_Beach
Consider using the extension “Plain old Favorites” which just uses the MS Favorites menu. Then you have access to them on both browsers.

Use “Plain old Favorites” an extension which uses the MS favorites for both and works great. Also that way you have access to Favorites in both browsers

Firefox 3.6.9 working fine under OpenSUSE 11.1 KDE 4.13. Just bookmarked this page as a test.
You may want to go into your profile folder and see if you have read/write access to the required files. If they’re read only, you need to change the attributes.
