"The Big Broadcast is a Sunday night tradition for families throughout the WAMU listening area. Each week, Big Broadcast host Ed Walker offers listeners priceless recordings of popular radio programs from the '30s, '40s and '50s. Priceless, especially, for a man whose first sentence as a child was, 'Turn the radio on.' "

Evening, Vision. Redskins-Cowboys, 7:30 PM!

Hey. You gonna watch? I've stopped paying attention to the NFL but have seen many cowboys/indians games.

Yeah, and I stand corrected: it's 8:20 on NBC Sunday Night Football. Been a 'Skins fan over 40 years, and since moving to Bama, I usually end up listening to them on ESPN980 web radio with an ESPN Gamecast up on the screen. It's a rare treat to see them on national TV, even if they usually lose. Hopefully Shanahan is getting them turned around.

Never watch the NFL - when I did the Boys and the Skins was always high drama. We do have a local boy playing for Dallas - Jason Witten played at Elizabethton High about ten miles from my house,

My Daddy had a copy of “What It Was Was Football” when I was a boy. I once had it memorized.

Going back several moons, one of my roommates was the son of ex-Skins cornerback Ted Vactor, from back in the Lombardi-Allen era. His son played for Indy State (was All-American, I think) and was on a couple of NFL practice squads, but he liked to party a little too much, and we're pretty sure he was on the juice - the guy was huge, had biceps the size of anvils, but he rarely put in time at the gym, it seemed. Nice guy, though.
