2 SUVs hit the same moose in northwestern Minnesota

CROOKSTON, Minn. — A moose is dead after being struck by two sports utility vehicles in northwestern Minnesota.
The State Patrol says an SUV pulling a boat hit the moose "square on" shortly after 8 p.m. Sunday east of Crookston. The SUV rolled in the ditch, and the moose came to rest in the northbound lane.
The moose was then hit by a second SUV, which also went off the road.
The Crookston Daily Times reports both drivers and their passengers were wearing seat belts and apparently were not hurt.
The patrol says the moose was killed when it was hit by the second SUV.
