I hooked myself in the ear so often while flailing a fly rod that it started the trend of men wearing ear rings

Don't know if this “tops” it, but...

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/chat/2606393/posts?page=35#35

Had a customer catch a small hook just under his eyebrow once. Point and barb went in, through and out of the skin. Too close to the eye for me or the Capt. to mess with it. Taped the shank of the hook to his forehead and he fished all day. ER took care of it 1-2-3 once we got back.

All the fishing I've done, all the time I spent as a mate on party boats, I only got hooked past the barb three times. All were with those small “Tinker tube” hooks we use during mackerel season.

Didn’t realize you folks were swappin’ fish lies or I would have been here last night.
Had a small group of Texans on board one night. Fellow lands his first bluefish. He leans down to the deck and I realize he’s gonna try to lip it like a LM bass. Screaming “NOOoooo”, I managed to race down the deck before he grabbed it. Showed him the teeth and how razor sharp they are and he thanked me. Tipped me well too.

Yeeesh Nork. That's the last thing I wanted to see in the morning.

I caught a 92 pound king salmon from my uncles boat off Juan de Fuca (sorta rolls off the tongue, eh) when I was a kid. Now that was fishin.

92 pounder.. wow. That’s a pile of salmon....

uhhh. I see that pic lured ya in.. try baiting your hook with cheesy poof.. I hear sweet corn works too.. and they’re biodegradable if the fish spit it out.

Speakin of Cheesy Poofs, it’s Costco day. Gonna grab a huge chunk o pig for the Saturday afternoon sammies. Supposed to be in the 70’s and sunny... probably the last t-shirt bbq this season. It usually snows before Halloween here.

"But they have lost the magic"

Good comments and most of us agree.

Sorta like what they did with soap box derby with kit cars. I helped my son with that endeavor about 10 years ago. He lost interest in less than a year.

Nice fish and I think I see Sea Lice too. This is the time of year my senses really perk up, my pace and heart accelerates and I think of the Elk & Sixes and....sigh, here I am w/no coast in sight.

Barely had time to change drivers. Kyle’s not on my team but my spies say look out for him this weekend. Trying to button, clean and rake up outside ‘fore the cold hits Sunday. Snow forecast for next week. Might be a white Halloween....

Long day yesterday. Caught the tail end of it, basically the go or go homers.

Almost picked Flash this week, but alas, not qual points.

Instead of some vino drop a hint you’d like a bottle of this next time the wife goes vineyard hopping:

“A bottle of malt scotch, the 64-year-old Dalmore Trinitas, costs $150,000.”
