A buddy of mine did that to his wife shortly after they were married. He was 6-4, 280ish college conference football player, got a couple of looks from the pros. His wife is 5-4ish about 120. Elbowed him in the side, and cracked 2 ribs. She told him "DON'T YOU EVER DO THAT AGAIN"

He told me he never will again.

Agreed. Jim Backus was very underrated. He was hilarious in Mr. Magoo. It was great cartoon.

Also played “Jim’s” dad in Rebel Without A Cause which was kind of silly because Natalie Wood and James Dean looked like 30 year old high schoolers.

I had heard when J Winters was on Mork and Mindy, it was mayhem on the set. People were dieing from laughter between Winters and Williams.

Yeah, I found his puzzlement at his son's behavior almost funny, but I guess thats because we who grew up in the 60s remember him as Mr Howell. In all fairness, before Mad Mad World he did dramatic roles in movies.

Which is odd, because outside of Merman & Tracy they featured only comics in that movie.

He was in some good movies. I liked his performance in the The Dirty Dozen, although his role in that movie was not large by any means.

Thanks, Stepan 12. I remember that movie. Tony Curtis got his hand chopped off. Did you ever see “Bad Day at Black Rock”? Borgnine was one of about 7 good actors in that one. He was in a lot of good movies.
He and Lee Marvin were great in a movie about Hobo’s. The name escapes me.

You should listen to his recorded interviews on YouTube. They're very interesting, especially about how he got started in show business and his time in the service during WWII.

I was laughing all day after I heard him whisper that comment to Steve Doosey on Fox and FRiends.

That scene seems to play out a little bit slow all the the time, but it heated up after Lancaster got in there. Sinatra was a bit player in that scene IMO
