Driver's License bureau Lawrenceville, GA...bowing to PC Muslim pressure? (Vanity)

Posted on 10/21/2010 5:37:30 AM PDT by dawn53

A friend called me yesterday to report what she had experienced while getting her driver's license renewed. A woman before her was wearing a hijab and there was no problem, they didn't make her remove it to get her photo taken. But when my friend was getting her photo taken, the lady taking the photo told her she would have to get her bangs off her forehead in order for the photo to be taken...it was Homeland Security rules. My friend raised the question about the woman with the hijab, but no explanation was made, just the fact reiterated that her hair would have to be off her forehead. So after several attempts to try to push her hair off her forehead, she was finally able to get a "satisfactory" photo taken that complied with the Homeland Security rules. So you GA folks, what's up with that? Of all places, does Georgia now discriminate toward women with bangs while not enforcing similar rules for women with hijabs. Craziness!!!

I think it has to do with the facial recognition software they are using. It links back to the Feds and also the prison systems. Soon, you won’t need to carry a driver’s license at all. The cops snap your picture at a stop, and the computer can give them your life story is 10 seconds. The hair does not matter, the face does.

You did know about the facial recognition software, didn’t you?

I suggest all women applying for licenses in Georgia wear hijabs

Men too

Just before photo time say “there is no god but god and mohammed is his prophet”

voila- you're muslim
as the mad muslims have shown ....There's money to be made in suing anyone who insults your beliefs. Put CAIR on your speed dial

Government cretin that she is she resorted to the time honored tradition of saying “it’s the rules”. As usual a mindless automaton failed to use logic and simply defended herself with the “superior authority” defense.

that’s not how facial recognition software works. Bangs do not interfere with the application of facial recognition technology. It was simply PC fear.

You did know about the facial recognition software, didn’t you?

That's why they went from "you HAVE to leave your eyeglasses on because it's a restriction on your license" to "you HAVE to take your eyeglasses off".

At least, that's the case in my state -- YMMV.

Fantastic idea! Just put on the hijab, but say nothing about religion until the clerk tells you to take it off. Then, get indignant, but still say nothing about religion. Make the CLERK mention Islam first. And have a friend video the whole exchange. I see a lovely YouTube moment.

Just don't be saying "Allahu Akbar!" or you may get yourself shot for your trouble.
At least here in Texas...

Yes, it has to do with facial recognition, but if hair in the forehead interfers, why doesn’t a hijab interfer with the software.

Actually, my friend after trying to get her bangs off her forehead numerous times told the “photographer”...I’ll just wear a hijab next time. As you said, problem solved!

These are the type of government drones we will be dealing with when we want health care in the future. Democrats must be crazy.

FWIW we live in Suwanee, GA (which adjoins Lawrenceville, GA) and we use that licensing office on Hurricane Shoals road. (recently there for my youngest daughter’s road test)

My experience is that everyone has to have an unobstructed photo on their license.

I realize your friend called you ... but ... I kinda find this hard to believe.

Gwinnett County Ga ain’t the most PC place.

"that’s not how facial recognition software works"

Then you should explain how it works in this case.

My understanding is that hair that is on or over the eyebrows does affect facial recognition software. Perhaps I am mistaken?
